Something none of y’all are ready for:

If Harry had his mothers last name he’d be a slytherin

Okay okay hear me out

The sorting hat wanted to put Harry in slytherin because he exemplified more slytherin traits than gryffindor

He only ended up in gryffindor because he specifically asked not to be slytherin

The only reason he didn’t want to be slytherin is because draco was a slytherin and he didn’t like draco (from their two interactions lmao)

They sort by last name

If his last name was Evans he would have gone before Draco Malfoy, therefore nothing would motivate him to not want to be a slytherin (keep in mind he didn’t know any of the history of slytherin so he wouldn’t hate it)

Ok so JK Rowling (i know, fuck her) once mentioned that Donna Tartt was one of the authors that influenced her writing most. And I don’t care if it’s an intentional shoutout to tsh or not. But, like, Draco Malfoy is 200% a Bunny Corcoran wanna-be (but secretly he’s Francis).

My Drarry Theory

for the darling @betterthanthislife who gave me the inspiration for this

So if I need to make it clear I ship Drarry (Draco and Harry from Harry Potter)

Why I ship Drarry is because it makes sense to me 

Harry:

Young

Smart 

Attractive 

Brave

Draco:

Young

Smart

Attractive

Clever

I know Draco is a coward. I feel that has to do with nature versus nurture. 

He was raised by death eaters! He was raised to lead and be strong, I don’t think that Draco himself wanted to be a leader. 

Draco realized he was queer (I speculate gay all the way but he might be something else. [If you have a theory on his sexuality DM me]) at a young age. Around the time that he was started to get trained to be a death eater himself. When learning to be a death eater he was taught that Purebloods tm are better than half-bloods or muggle-borns. With him being a Pureblood he was expected to carry on the line with a female death eater to keep the bloodline pure. But Draco was never attracted to the women around him. When he saw Harry he felt an immediate attraction. But being that he was taught that he needed to find a girl he punished himself for his connection to Harry. The only way he could get close to Harry was to bully him and make his life a hell. He couldn’t befriend Harry because of who his parents were and the fact that he wasn’t a pureblood himself, or a slytherin. 

So in a desperate attempt to get close to the object of his affection he was rude and terrible to him. But over the years he felt worse and worse about it but couldn’t seem to stop. Finally after Harry was killed in the final movie he realized what was really at stake and stood up for himself and the whole of Hogwarts. 

TL;DR: Draco is repressed and takes it out on the boy he has a crush on.
