I’ve been seeing tons of anniversaries for people hitting a year in fandom and I’m so excited for them and also so terribly terribly jealous. I’ve been writing Drarry since June 2021 and like I’m not disappointed in the interaction I’ve received. In fact I love every single person who’s kudos, commented, subscribed, and bookmarked my fics. But I’m jealous because these people I see that are celebrating are tagging long time fandom people or simply other newbies that are doing great and I just want friends. Let’s be honest here, I’m jealous of people ability to make friends. The concept is so lost on me and I’m so afraid of making a bad connection and then having anxiety when I think of Drarry and Drarry is literally the best thing in my life. (Besides my cats) So I’m just gonna keep sitting here wishing somebody would tag me to join their 1 hit, 2 gem challenge or the first sentence of 10 fics or WIPs, fucking whatever. And like yeah I’ve seen tons of people end it with “join if you want to” but that feels so much like my sisters’ saying I can invite myself to their hangouts and dinners. I know in theory that that’s how people are making friends, they just fucking jump in, or they join fests and discords and I’ve done the two latter things with no success to making friends.

i created this blog around late 2020 thinking it would just be a platform that i’d use occassionally to post my art on, hence the old username. when i posted my first drabble here in early 2021, i didn’t think it would get much attention because at the time i didn’t consider myself as a good writer.

now that this blog has evolved into something more as my creative outlet (not just for art but for writing as well) and i think both my writing and art have improved, i figured it’s now time for a username change.

starlitsilvereyes is a phrase coined from my drarry poem, and it also holds a very special place in my heart (that i will not specify for personal reasons; said reasons aside, i also thought of draco when i wrote it, and that gay twink is very special to me as well).

all of my writing and art content will remain the same, and i will continue to make drarry fics and art.

my ao3 username will remain as it is, writingsbydestiny, but i have created a starlitsilvereyes pseud to associate my tumblr account with it.

my writing tag remains as #luciennewrites and my art tag is now #lucienneart , to honour the previous username.

i’ve only been active on tumblr for a couple of months, but i am delighted to be here with you all creative, kind, and talented people.

Fandoms: I mostly only write for Harry Potter, but the rest of my fandoms are listed on my bio :) the vast majority of my fics are Drarry!

Tropes:

For writing: hurt/comfort, soulmate AUs, fluff, angst, getting together/love confessions/pining, eighth year, romantic smut, domesticity... in general, I prefer writing romanting/feelsy/painful things over plotty stuff :D

For reading: all of the above, plus creature fic, forced bonding, darkfic, kinky smut, Auror Partners, Drarry as parents/older Drarry, and a long etc 😂

Number of fics: This is a complicated question because a number of my AO3 works are fanarts with a hundred words of fic to go with them, or memefic, or translations. My total amount of works is 102 if we count an unrevealed work for a fest, but 9 of these works are translations of my own fanfic, and some are unfinished wips. So let’s say I’ve finished and published around 85-90 fics XD 

Fic I spent the most time on: actively writing, probably Harry Potter y las Cicatrices Invisibles, which I started in autumn 2017 and finished at the beginning of summer 2018, writing every day and posting several times a week as I wrote. Otherwise, Pumpkin Boy sat in my drafts for an entire year between the moment I started writing it and the day I posted it, so probably that one! (let’s casually ignore all the wips that have been sitting in my laptop for years...)

Fic I spent the least time on: I’ve written a lot of drabbles, but I think one of the drabbles I’ve spent the least time on was A Dream About a Boy, because I wrote it in a haze and barely edited it aftwerwards. There are others I’ve written this way, though, so who knows!

Total word count: Again, tricky question because I translate a lot of my works. But the answer is: 528618 words posted on my AO3 (🤯)

Favourite fic I wrote: How could I choose? I often write fic as a coping mechanism, and some of my fics have kept me safe and sane in very bad moments. Others I squeal every time I re-read them because I’m so proud of my writing style, of my ideas, of how I conveyed certain emotion... I can’t choose!

Fic I want to rewrite/expand on: Definitely (Mis)calculations, since it’s still a WIP lol. I also started writing a continuation for A Good Reminder where Harry finds out about Draco’s scars, and I hope I find the motivation to finish it!

Sugar bricks

It's been two and a half years since the war ended and almost everyone who graduated from hogwarts as the year who fighted in the war goes to college now. Draco, however, is hated by his parents now, has no contact with them but he got used to it. Almost everyone hates him on the campus, makes fun of him or insults him. And then, there's Potter. Every time he passes by, he makes him a compliment and gives him only one sugar brick. Draco was wondering why Potter kept doing this, but never talked to him about it or even dared to use the sugar bricks. He just kept them and even started collecting them. One day, the first year on the campus was already over and the second year was about to begin, Harry walked up to Malfoy with two pounds of pure sugar and covered Draco in it. The Slytherin was shocked and angry at the same time and as he wanted to yell at Harry, he interrupted him, saying, "no matter how many sugar bricks I tried, none would be as sweet as you", and Draco turned dark red, trying not to freak out in front of the whole class.

1. favorite fic you wrote this year

Since I haven't written that many fics this year lol I think this one, for fan fair: And Draco Makes Four, with single dad Harry Potter with adopted twins and a gorgeous healer and paediatrician Draco Malfoy.

14. a fic you didn’t expect to write

I guess, Keep Me Close for the animagi fest because I usually don't like animagi fics. But I avoided bestiality and referring to their animal physical forms and I have to say, I adored writing this uptight Draco Malfoy and the occasion to write some knotting ;)

18. current number of wips

oh, so you hate me. You only had to say! 😂I'm kidding. I have a lot. Let me count... kinkmas, two different 8th year fics, one auror partners fic, a crack fic, a getting back together fic. So: 6 wips. But these are only the ones that already have words on a doc. Ideas? Too many lol.
