his sword is really cool, actually. a very nice ruby red. i think he would have a long sword and short sword (kind of like the daisho, a matched pair of japanese swords). otherwise, he would just use his hands. or his teeth. i think he just doesn't really care too much about how it's done, as long as it gets done
sugimoto reiji:
it's not stated in the manhwa what class he is, so i head canon him as an assassin because i think there's only one or two that are canon. so, i think he would have a dagger for short-range kills, and kunai and shuriken for long-range kills (slightly inspired by genji from overwatch's kunai and shuriken setup - the green even matches his usual suit...)
tanaka kenzo:
his fists suit him as a tank-esque fighter. if not that, then brass knuckles (slightly inspired by seo seongun from lookism... beloved...) also i just think he likes to get hands on with things, if him during the jeju arc gives us any clue what his fighting style is like
tawata kanae:
i think a two-sided spear or scimitar would be cool. she also has double blades as it is, so i think she just likes working with two instead of one. higher level of efficiency and all

fujishima tatsumi:
i think he would use things more for looks rather than efficiency, so anything cool or unique... a scythe seems up his alley. something like ruby's scythe (especially because it also works as a gun - and i think the engineering mind i've head canoned for him would love to fiddle with that and make it abysmally powerful)
ishida mari:
i headcanon him as a ranger because i think there's literally only taegyu otherwise. so he would use a compact bow as his main weapon (inspired by the chiron form of the coronacht bow), but he also uses a rapier. he strikes me as a rich kid that studied abroad in london and learned fencing (i know it's really specific but those are just the vibes i get)
shimizu akari:
she has her giant golden battle axe. i also think she would know boxing, so she has short-ranged hand-to-hand combat down
kumamoto atsushi:
he doesn't really need a weapon, since he has a strange fighting style, and i headcanon he transforms like yoonho. but... something blunt, like a mace or a club. maybe nunchucks? or something similar to the playful cloud weapon from jujutsu kaizen?
hamada kei:
they're an ice type mage, so they have a varied attack pattern, but i think they would like a bowstaff or a baton (inspired by nami's clima tact from one piece. it even has the bonus of controlling the weather through temperature - which kei can... sorta do, lmao). something to easily knock-out any monsters that get near them so they can run before they throw up. really, it's more of a back up weapon, since they would take anything out before it got too close to them (inspired by this video!)
izawa ippei:
the actual canon assassin. well, i headcanon he likes collecting all sorts of weapons and learning how to use them, but his go-to would be something slightly ranged, like a spear (inspired by maki's from jujutsu kaizen) or a scythe (i think something simple like the one from soul eater would suit him best)
hoshino minoru:
i also headcanon him as an assassin (i mean, look at that raid outfit - you can't tell me that's not built perfectly for stealth and a better range of motion!), but more short-ranged and borderline fighter style. i think he has a sickle for quick chain kills, and an old dagger for sneak kills. (sickle is directly inspired by percy jackson and chronos' sickle, but i don't think we ever got to see it in a movie, but something along these lines would fit well. dagger is more of the hunting/gutting knife from the hannibal nbc series)
well... that about wraps it up! i tried to get more visuals from media this time instead of just googling the weapon type from the internet. there are some pretty cool weapon designs already out there, unique ones that always catch my eye. i just like weapons a lot lmao

the draw sword guild team, who definitely aren't my favorites
Firstly, I don't know why, but I made the jump of headcanon-ing Hoshino Minoru as Goto Ryuji's nephew. This isn't canon but I refer to it a lot, so I just wanted to clarify straight away this is not part of the manhwa!
Reiji had a really long lasting emo phase. It kept going even when he was a hunter, and only stopped when he was promoted to vice guild leader. But he still has tattoos and piercings from back then, and it drives the team wild (they figure out he has his tits pierced and he never knows peace)
Tatsumi was in university to become an engineer. He tends to do random things whenever he gets bored. As in, dismantling the communal kitchen dishwasher and trying to "upgrade it to maximum efficiency," or taking apart various devices to try and "create a homemade roomba," and so on
Ryuji's lockscreen is an old, fat cat, and his homescreen is that same cat with kittens, and a rather excited young child. This has sparked rumors within the team that he has a kid (the kid is a very young Hoshino Minoru, his nephew)
One of Tatsumi's better hobbies is the trumpet, much to everyone's dismay. However, they realize Minoru is a heavy sleeper when Tatsumi attempts to play the Megalovania theme and Minoru just. Sleeps entirely through it
Kanae was going to be a tattoo designer/artist (I think being a tattoo artist requires a medical degree in Japan... but she would not care) and she still doodles designs in her spare time
Kanae also wants to have every inch of her tattooed, as a goal of hers, so she takes suggestions from the team (Kenzo and Tatsumi aren't allowed to suggest anything because they keep advising onigiri)
When Reiji created the team, he first hired Kenzo, Kanae, and Tatsumi. A tank and two fighters. He hires Mari, a ranger, and Akari, a healer after Tatsumi nearly dies doing stupid shit in the gates
Mari was a sheltered rich kid. The team takes it upon themselves to educate him on the wonders of 60 cent ramen packets (and other things as well)
When Akari moves in with her pet bugs, Kanae goes back to trying convince Reiji to allow her to have a pet python. Reiji doesn't budge, and for her birthday, Kenzo, Tatsumi, and Minoru all band together to sneak a python to her room (it goes about as well as you'd imagine, which isn't well at all)
Kenzo is terrified of bugs. At some point, Akari's millipede escapes. This is where their little rivalry begins
Ryuji doesn't really interact with the team a whole lot (at first), doesn't even attend the trainings. He's moved out of the offered room that comes with being a Draw Sword Guild leader. The kids are a little disappointed, because they've heard a lot about the Goto Ryuji, and barely get to see him outside of dungeons or gates
At some point, the Annual Guild Conference is held in Las Vegas. The entire team begs to go, because it's Las Vegas, and Reiji relents. Even Ryuji goes
Ippei and Mari are tied for being the shortest two on the team. Kenzo uses their heads as elbow rests a lot
Everyone tends to distance themselves from Atsushi a lot, since his fighting style is... dangerous. Kenzo is the only one who is really friendly with him, since he's so confident that he's stronger than Atsushi, so he can't ever kill him
Ippei is prone to insomnia, so it becomes a thing to just. Walk into his dorm room to bother him if you're up at 4 am, because he's most likely up as well
Kei isn't an insomniac, but they are a night owl, so they tend to run into Ippei in the communal kitchen a lot, and they become really good friends when they start playing Minecraft together
Akari discovers Ippei's old streamer videos. Even though he deletes them immediately, it's too late. She's clipped several videos of him getting jumpscared, or rage quitting, or doing something stupid, etc. They become reaction images in their groupchat
Tatsumi challenges him to speed-running Minecraft and loses terribly, but now they know Ippei didn't fake his speed-running videos. Tatsumi always challenges him at least once a month
Reiji urges Ryuji to participate in the team, which prompts Ryuji to choose Atsushi, Kei, and Ippei as potential hunters. Reiji recruits them immediately, but Ryuji still doesn't interact with the team much, to Reiji's disappointment
Ippei accidentally microwaves a fork one time in the morning after not getting any sleep. His expression did not change a single bit as the microwave caught on fire. "Oh no," has become an expression throughout the group
Atsushi, like Yoonho, is capable of shifting powers. He turns into a brown bear, but it's a really unstable shift. He's working on controlling it
(I chose bear because I think Kuma = bear in Japanese, so little brown bear boy!!! He's not little hes like 7 feet tall but you know what I mean)

anyway! new fic!!! yay!!! its only barely 2k words but still! hope you guys enjoy it, i wrote it in one sitting and decided to share because every fandom deserves a nice lil chat fic full of fluff (for now lmao)
despite his tough exterior and putting on the air that he's in control and smart, this man lives like a pig. he's a mess. 90% of his house is depression clutter. the only thing that’s clean is his bed and that's because he takes up all of it
he collects swords and also vinyls
terribly used to being alone all the time and thus his life has kinda spiraled into... this
he just puts on music and forgets his issues, thus the reason for his vinyl collection
claims he keeps his team at arms length all the time. in reality he secretly checks up on everyone in his own ways
really proud of everyone but never ever admits it. however when he realizes how Minoru and the whole team is affected by this, well... he tries to drop hints
he runs on alcohol unfortunately. that coffee cup? straight sake. Kenzo and Reiji find out the hard way
surprisingly has the patience for those brain teaser puzzle thingies where you have to resemble something
he's a great cook but is too lazy to go out and get groceries so he just orders out a lot
after Reiji visited his place he claims he's cleaned up but... the mess just moved to his room entirely
‘why do you have... twenty something takeout boxes under the bed?’ ‘if you don't look at them then they aren't there’ ‘Goto what the fuck’
once Reiji has seen his place, the wall falls entirely and Goto actually finds it amusing to see him freak out so much over how he lives. And Reiji can't tell when Goto is being sarcastic sometimes so he’ll genuinely think Goto lights his clothes on fire and buys new ones to avoid doing laundry until he sees Goto absolutely struggling to not laugh
his laugh is kinda obnoxious and its kind of the reason he doesn't laugh but people are too stunned to see Goto smile or laugh to really process it
he really likes sunlight
actually the only reason he lives where he does is cause they've got a set of balcony doors that are entirely glass and Goto loves just sitting on the couch and soaking it in during the morning
‘Goto can you open this?’ ‘Goto i lost my phone can you call it’ ‘Goto, Akari cussed me out again’ ‘Gotooo can we go out to eat after training’ he did not sign up to be a father
really likes old anime movies. Akira... there's others but that's all i can think of at the moment
he really likes cats, but he doesn't have his own cause he's too irresponsible for that
however. if he happens to know all of the alleycats' favorite treats that's none of your concern
that's all i've got for now. he's kinda become one of my favorite character, him and Reiji, as i've made these head-canons. though these are probably a little ooc but, well. nothin' i can do about that.
alright, but what if Jin-Woo revived the sword guild members?
what exactly would happen? he probably would've kept Min Byung-Gyu if Baek didn't ask for him to be spared, so its not a stretch to assume he'd try and revive Goto + the others. What would happen?
And more importantly... how would Reiji + those who survived react?
Jin-Woo's made humans into shadow soldiers before - Iron is one, and Byung-Gyu was nearly one. so it's clear turning or reviving humans isn't much of a moral issue to him.
i could see Jin-Woo turning Goto because he's relatively strong, and Jin-Woo has the option of making his shadow soldiers stronger, so Goto would be a relatively good investment as monsters in gates usually aren't as strong as him. i could also see him justifying turning Akari, as she's a skilled healer, Kei because they're a mage, and Ippei cause he's an assassin. the rest, while regular fighters, are also pretty strong - so, if he's already turned those four, he'd probably turn Kenzo, Mari, and Tatsumi anyway.
... but Jin-Woo is a relatively high profile hunter. and he's smart - he knows Reiji and the others think the rest of their members have died, and all hell would maybe break loose if they found out Jin-Woo was using them as his soldiers. so he'd probably just use them inside gates and such, maybe tag a few onto the shadows of others for protection.
he's not totally heartless. would he maybe eventually come clean to Reiji about the nature of their friends? it's not like Jin-Woo can let them roam free, as he's their leader/king/liege/etc but he could probably pull a few strings and allow them to protect their old friends by staying in their shadows. and i can't see Reiji getting too furious with Jin-Woo at keeping this a secret; we saw Choi, Baek, Lim and the others in the Jeju raid react to Jin-Woo's powers and ultimately think yeah, turning off the camera was a good idea, because reviving the dead is sort of... an odd power.
but then, we see how Iron/Kim still has a bit of a personality as a shadow solider; and Byung-Gyu, for the few seconds he was a soldier, had his own drive, as Jin-Woo commented on how he didn't even need to give him an order to start healing Cha Hae-In. so... would the draw sword guild members... still be the same, perhaps?
how would death treat Goto? i can't imagine his competitive nature completely dying out, but maybe he's got less bloodlust, or more of a caring outlook on the lives of his members? or, would he care less about them? honestly i like to think he'd get more mellow; a lot of his problems are gone now, and his sole purpose as a soldier to listen to Jin-Woo, whose orders mostly consist of 'kill these monsters' 'protect these humans' 'stay in this persons shadow' 'do not try to kill Beru' 'collect these mana crystals' 'Goto this is the last time i ask you to not kill Beru' and so on.
we didn't get to see much of the others personalities, but! would Kei's ability to smell mana go away, as it's a human trait? or would it become manageable in some way? because now that Kei is essentially made up of mana/shadow, i'd imagine they eventually... get used to the smell of mana? and, with Akari as a healer, could she have the ability to heal the other shadow soldiers, or would they not count as they aren't human? would Jin-Woo thus only keep her on hand for any injuries his family/civilians suffer?
also, this isn't important, but i wonder what color they'd glow as humans, and in general, how they'd look. it seems to be blue for all of them, and doesn't seem to change like Igris' color, unless their color just changes when Jin-Woo makes them strong enough... so would Goto glow purple? and the rest blue? and, since it seems Iron and Byung-Gyu kept what they were wearing when revived, it means they'd all forever be outfitted in their raid uniform for the Jeju raid, and Kei would be stuck with their gas mask as well. Akari would come with her battle axe, too. would she and Iron be axe friends? ae enthusiasts?
would Goto invisibly lead the draw sword guild, maybe? i said before they were very useful summons, but we know Jin-Woo keeps the cream of the crop on hand and the rest as fillers in his army + soldiers to keep in others shadows to swap places at any time. so would he eventually allow Reiji, Minrou, Kanae, and Atsushi to permanently reunite with them and keep them in their shadows? and, thus, would Goto somewhat go back to a normal life? is that even possible? honestly, i personally like to think so. maybe he can't eat, or not have any human needs, but Beru was an ant, yet he enjoyed history dramas; so we know it's possible for them to still feel joy and happiness. Goto might be a little different after time spent as a shadow soldier, but he'd still be a tad bit human.
... anyway. this is woefully long, but i'll end it here. this has been brewing in my mind for a hot second and i needed to get it out. i still have more ideas but i'll simply add on later.
please!!! share any of your thoughts! i tried my best to keep these things in character or so, but i wouldn't mind y'all going wild with this idea or adding your own thoughts. i really was debating adding some stuff between Reiji and Goto but for now i'll try and keep it sorta realistic. i do hope you enjoyed!

she actually taxidermies her own pets! She keeps bugs as pets! orchid mantis, maybe a scorpion, a tarantula, a few cool stags and beetles, etc

despite some thinking its weird, they accept her taxidermied bugs as birthday presents
carries around a bunch of lollipops with her at all times and sometimes gives some out to kids
claims she could never be a pediatrician cause she doesn't have the patience but Reiji and Goto know she was in med school before she dropped out to be a hunter
