          light seeped in from the window in the hall, and not for the first time since he and hazel had moved in together, richie found himself admiring the way the moonlight shone through it-- illuminating everything in sight. the glow was beautiful. a stark contrast to EVERYTHING richie felt inside-- to the way his heart ached and his hands trembled.    there had been so much blood. it had coated his hands in the dream, a never ending reminder of his failure.   that his worst fear had FINALLY come true.  --nothing he could do was good enough. eddie had been taken. snapped away, and there was nothing he could do. 

          richie sniffed, didn’t even bother to wipe away the tears that had fallen-- simply stood up after hearing the door open and looked to his sister with the weakest of smile.  “ can’t sleep either, huh? ”

“What, you think I meant to?  Ugh.  Jesus, I feel like ass.”

...maybe he shouldn’t have drank so much the night before, but welcome to Richie’s life, honestly.  Hangovers are helllll.

“Next time don’t stand so close, seriously.  You’re like, right in projectile vomit range.”

“It’s fine,” he mumbles, reflexive because honestly he’s not sure how else to answer.  Everything in him says to brush her off, to manage on his own, so he almost seems to pull in on himself, defending himself from....something, not that he even knows what.

                   a  polite  smile  comes  across.  head  tilting  to  the  side  as  eyes  quickly  dance  over  the  other.  lips  purse  together  for  a  moment,  there  were  too  many  new  faces  in  this  town.  it  was  all  seeming  to  be  much  larger  than  bill  ever  described.  was  this  still  the  same  place?    ❛   sorry.  how  did  you  say  you  know  my  husband  again?   ❜

He could taste the blood, but he was also sure the bleeding had stopped by now. Turning the wrong corner and headed right into Henry Bowers and his gang always meant bad news, and sometimes they were spared because Bowers had his eyes on someone else, but he must have been bored today, and now Eddie had a bloody nose.

Eddie had blood on his hands, as he had tried to wipe some away, but he had nothing else. His mom was going to freak out.

“can you just -- just stop talking for five minutes?” honestly, he sat down on the edge of the bathtub. forcing your sister into the bathroom so you could have a quiet talk with her was probably weird, but right now ronnie didn’t want to think about that. or have her asking questions. “i need you to help me with something. okay?”
