I love Iranon so much.
That’s from page 5, in case you’re wondering <3
His design is based on HPL’s descriptions AND on an old original character of mine that I created LONG time before I even read my first Lovecraft story. The character’s name was Eventyr and as absurd as it may sound, he had the EXACT SAME BACKGROUND as Iranon with the exception of the setting. Iranon’s quest takes place in a forgotten past -and not in the Dreamlands, despite what a lot of people think- while my char lived in the present.
(Eventyr is a danish word that means both ‘adventure/travel/quest’ and ‘fairytale’)
I finished my concept sketches for Ilek-Vad last night… golden towers atop crystal cliffs with Night Gaunts flying around and Ghouls patrolling the streets. It would look like Boston if mixed with art-nouveauish Paris mixed with aztec ruins mixed with Disneyland. And there’s some sort of steampunk feel to it as well. And then there’s Iranon walking around with poppy flowers in his hair :) In a few words: is weird AS HELL. And slightly gay. Lol.
