a more discourse oriented thing, but I've been having some thoughts about june/john egbert
gender is a social construct. john was textually a guy during homestuck. he was made a trans woman afterward via an irl competition, which was then ignored and fucked over by the epilogues and hs^2. but who says she has to conform to a set presentation?
what about a june who has her hair a little long because she likes it, but not too much because its annoying and hard to manage. what about a june who identifies as a woman but sometimes falls back on masculine presentation and pronouns because they feel better at the moment. what about john just having fun with his identity and doing what feels right after living a sheltered life of male/female binaries
