Dancing with the Stars Rewatch: Season 2 Week 6
Sorry I’m late. I’m having some computer issues (again). Anyway, it is week 6 and let me tell you how I’m looking forward to this week. Both dances that got perfect scores are dances that I regularly watch to this day. So I can’t wait to watch them with a more critical eye. I’m also excited to see Lisa’s quickstep. I don’t quite remember it but if it is anything like her jive, it’ll be great.
Jerry and Anna- Paso Doble (Judges’ Score=23, My Score=8)- So I just want to say that I miss when the show used to pick more traditional music for the dances. I thought this dance was decent. Jerry’s technique was way more sound than it ever has been. His posture was really good minus a coupld of instances. But I do agree with Len about nothing about this particular dance standing out.
Drew and Cheryl- Tango (Judges’ Score=30, My Score=10)- It was nice seeing Nick and Lea come by their rehearsals. And it was really nice seeing Nick and Drew’s brotherly love. It’s moments like this that I used to live for while watching this show. Among others of course. Okay so yes, this dance was absolutely perfect. It was dynamic and it was exciting. I’m actually surprised that the judges totally ignored the lift in there, but yeah, it was great. His shoulders were great and his arms were not an issue (probably because he was in hold).
George and Edyta- Rumba (Judges’ Score=23, My Score=6)- This was probably George’s best dance of the season. There still could have been more dancing and it could have been crisper. Flatulating???? Len, I don’t think that’s what you meant. But yeah, I can’t agree with all of the hype that they keep giving George, but it was fun to watch.
Lisa and Louis- Quickstep (Judges’ Score=27, My Score=9)- Hmm. Okay so here’s the thing with this one. Everything that Lisa did was really good. I thought her hold was a little weird. Now here is my issue. I thought it started way too slow. It came alive in the last quarter of the dance, but until then, I was disappointed in the choreography more than anything.
Stacy and Tony- Jive (Judges’ Score=30, My Score=10)- Again. Another perfect dance. And what a great showcase of her long long legs.
Thoughts on the Group Viennese Waltz: I thought everyone did a great job here. Stacy was my favorite. She is super elegant and her lines are always gorgeous. Lisa actually was my second favorite here. Everything was on point. Drew’s rise and fall wasn’t perfect but he handled that lift extremely well. Jerry did a really nice job. And George was George during that solo.
My Rankings and Scores Out of 30:
1. Drew and Cheryl- 30 =. Stacy and Tony- 30 3. Lisa and Louis- 27 4. Jerry and Anna- 23 5. George and Edyta- 20
I think it was time for George to go at this point. The other four couples had been growing from week to week and I think he plateaued after week 3. He was fun to watch and quite the entertainer and Edyta did a great job. But yeah, it was time. Let me know your thoughts on this week and I will hopefully be back on Monday with the semi-finals.

“Circle of Life (The Lion King)” - 98º
Of course nothing beats the original version, but as a HUGE fan of 98º, I’m so excited about this. I need it to be on iTunes so I can have it on repeat!
so while I enjoyed watching the old music videos and performances because swoooon... they're dancing ?!?? in the new performances. My fave 98° song fyi.
