There were times Tana wasn’t sure it was a good thing to be back in Half Moon Bay, but at the same time, it was hard for her to imagining living in any other city. All her favorite memories had happened here, and San Francisco felt like a distant dream sometimes. Unlike a dream, its consequences were real though, and she wouldn’t forget how hard-won it had been just to be here living a semi-normal life right now.
Shows were the exception to her no-partying rule, and she was always buzzing a little after playing a set. It didn’t matter that their band wasn’t the headliner tonight or that they might never outgrow playing in small bars and clubs like this. She had no interest in the music industry as a career, but she loved playing, and performing had helped her regain some of her confidence after a series of #badlifechoices. The buzz was purely adrenaline though, since she was almost five years sober and very committed to it. She leaned on the bar in a spill of red hair and a happy smile. “Can I get a water, please?”
