drink something if you haven't lately (preferably water)

Remember; you are a living person. And living people need sustenance. They need happiness. You were put on this Earth for a reason, and you're the only one who can figure out why.
A while back my Uncle nearly fainted in his backyard during a hot summer day.
He was working in the garden and drinking water, just water, trying to be healthy.
He ended up shaky and faint, and had to be driven to his doctor's office.
His Doctor basically read him the riot act, and told him to his face that it would have been infinitely better if he'd had a beer rather than all that water.
This is because he'd been sweating the whole time and by drinking water and not eating been Only replenishing the water not the needed electrolytes.
Spring has sprung and we are approaching the times of high temperatures soon, so here's a brief primer on how to replenish your electrolytes.
There are endless electrolyte drinks you can buy of course, but it doesn't have to be a purchase.
Electrolyte replenishing drinks are pretty simple, all you really need is:
Water
Sugar
Salt
You can add things like juice(I like to add lemon juice), you can use whatever type of salt you want, or add other things but it really doesn't need to be more complex than those 3 things.
Official ratios are:
1 liter of Water
6 teaspoons of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
Basically things you can get at the table of any diner in the US at your table. I like to keep at least one salt packet and sugar packet from a diner in my lunchbox just in case.
I realized recently that not a lot of people have this info from talking with friends, so I wanted to share it to ensure people could stay hydrated without having to waste money on Gatorade if they didn't have/want to.
Electrolyte drinks can also help settle an upset stomach to a certain degree.
This post can also just be a reminder to drink something if you haven't for several hours.
Please Reblog to spread the info

Also, don't worry about being healthy to the point you don't hydrate, if you don't like water to the point you avoid drinking then drink what you like to drink.
The only liquids that really aren't hydrating are higher proof alcohol really.
Sure you can work towards finding healthier hydration options to replace soda/juice etc, but first and foremost drink something. The human body is 80% water, we need our hydration.
