Stumbled across their music on YouTube a few years ago, and it grabbed me hard and hasn’t let go yet. They genuinely do not have a single song I do not enjoy. Got to see them live back in February of 2020. Such an amazing show.

Transformers-themed drinking glass and coaster set made for two married-to-each-other friends of mine. The glasses I picked up at a thrift store, and the coasters are GLASIG pillar candle trays from IKEA. Glasses are etched, coasters are sandblasted. Used glass paint to fill in the sandblasted areas and the little bubbles in the undersides of the glasses.

If you do fan art of someone else’s fan art/fic, is that, like, FanArt²?

Gift art for a friend, featuring the Autobot and Decepticon faction insignia, and the logo of her amazing G1 Transformers fancomic/fic, Maelstrom. Made by sandblasting on a GLATTIS coaster set from IKEA.

(Comic can be read in her deviantART gallery, and fic can be read either on dA or her FFn account (AFAIK she is not on AO3, sorry folks). Content warning for graphic violence, very dark themes, a lot of character death, some sex, and a bunch more violence. There is a lot of humour too, though, and fun action and some fluff, to balance out all the other stuff.)

Bunch of drinks coasters. Acid-etching in brass. Used the toner transfer method for the resist, with some small touch-up done with permanent marker and/or spray paint. Craft foam on the undersides.

Toner transfer method is using printer toner as the resist. Print out the flipped design super dark, slap it down on the metal, use a clothes iron to melt the toner and transfer it to the metal. Make sure not to move the paper at all or the design will blur. The paper probably won’t lift off clean, so it has to soak in water for a while so it can be removed without wrecking the toner bits.

These took so long. Worth it, but goddamn.

If I ever do something like this again I’m going to use vinyl as the resist, now that I have access to a vinyl cutter.
