@starcallers4035 took me on my first outing yesterday since surgery. Eeee! 💙🤗 We did a little grocery shopping together. 😋🙃 It was so nice to get out of the house for a bit. Yesterday was sore, sleepy, and a little nauseous - and about a 4 on the pain scale. Manageable! My bits are bruised, swollen, and healing, and walking is getting easier and better each day. What was the day before a hunched back and slow, hobbling advances, yesterday and today are more upright and steadier steps. On the mend and on my way! I am so grateful and amazed with my body and its ability to heal, adapt and grow through all of this. Here to see Dr. Ley for my pre-op for stage 2!! Dr. Ley was trained by and works with Dr. Toby Meltzer in Scottsdale, AZ. I had stage 1 (Urethral lengthening and vaginectomy) with her 3 months ago, and today I’ll be having stage 2 (scrotoplasty and placement of perms/testicular implants). They currently accept WA Apple Health (what I have), Kaiser, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. I did my last shot of testosterone today before my second procedure for lower surgery (metoidioplasty) coming up in 2 weeks!! 2 weeks from today - I will have my scrotoplasty and placement of permanent testicular implants with Dr. Ley in Scottsdale, AZ. Here’s what I’ve been looking like most of the time throughout these past 12 days - Mesh underwear, 2 catheters, and icing my bits. 😋💁🏽‍♂️ Recovery thus far has been challenging, exhausting, uncomfortable and painful AND it’s also been full of wins and successes, and I’m healing up and hanging in. ☺️ I had my first post op appointment this past Monday, and it went well! Dr. Ley said I have no infections, and that things are looking good. I did also express discomfort and pain with my catheters: 1 in my penis as a placeholder to keep my newly lengthened urethra open 😍😋🙃, and the other in my abdomen where my urine flows from. Ronin and I have been trouble shooting the catheters throughout my recovery, and over the past few days, I’ve come to a much more comfortable place with them, having found a successful set up. I’ve also shifted my thoughts around them - to gratitude and recognizing what they are here for - MY. PENIS. 😍😝💪🏼🙌 Haha! Now, instead of thinking about how uncomfortable they are and how much I don’t like them, I’ve been focusing on the fact that there is one through my new urethra to keep it from healing on itself so I will be able to pee out of it soon. Gosh. 💙 And that they are temporary, and knowing they are coming out over the course of the next few days. 😜 Tomorrowwwww...I’ll be getting my catheter in my penis removed and will be able to pee out of it for the first time! Eeeeee!! 😍🙌 I’m gonna cry. Gosh, I’m so grateful. Ahhhh!! There’s lots more to share, and I’ve actually created a Facebook page that I’m planning to update with more details, along with YouTube videos coming soon as well. Oh hi, everyone! 😋 I did it!!! Eeeeee!! 😄🙌🎉 Feeling good....☺️💙🌱 Pain is about a 4 or so atm. Have been in and out of sleep a bunch - with some nausea off and on yesterday and today (feeling good there as of meow). Feeling happy and peaceful. And so grateful. 💙 My OB, Dr. Webb, who did my Vaginectomy bit came in and checked on me this morning and said everything went really well, and that the nausea should be mostly gone by tomorrow 🙌🌱. More bed rest today, and when Dr. Ley came in to visit and check on me, she said everything is looking good, and I’ll be able to get up some. They are going to get me up to sit in a chair for dinner. 😋 Plans for discharge are for I think around midday tomorrow. 😋💪🏼 I got a bed bath earlier too - which was really nice. ☺️ They’ve unhooked me from the IV and oxygen, and I’m on oral pain meds now. I even got to see it....😍 Looking good so far!!
