DROPCLAN INFORMATION
Thingvellir National Park // Iceland
Camp // Dropclan’s camp is inside a small hill roughly in the centre of their territory. Wildflowers and soft mosses build up a thick covering, reinforced further by briar and lichen. The hill has one opening, in which the cats can enter to reveal a moderately large cave system that spirals deep into the ground. It is, in fact, an emptied volcano. The ground is hardened magma, though still warm under paw. The leader calls to the clan from a tall ledge, and the dens are various large vents lined with moss and down. Territory // Wildflowers are everywhere, as well as moderately sized shrubs and the occasional birch or ash tree. The terrain is littered with hills and thermal vents, and mild earthquakes are not uncommon. There is a large fissure cutting through the territory, in which the cats often use to train apprentices the art of battle. With such an abundance of herbs, knowledge of flowers and their uses are important in Dropclan. Every cat is taught a basic understanding of herbs and healing; first aid, if you will. Two-leg settlements dot the territory, though small and unimportant. The cats avoid them with ease. Finally, streams and rivers cut through Dropclan every which way, requiring the cats to swim if they can not find a crossing. Borders // Dropclan’s border with Rushclan is perhaps the fastest river in the entire territory. Rushclan’s land, across from the river, is risen about three to four feet above Dropclan’s, and makes it appear as if dropclan ‘dropped’ into the earth. Bayclan, however, is separated by a thunderpath lined with yew berry bushes. Prey and Predators // Perhaps the most abundant with mammals, Dropclan boasts a heavy population of mink, mice, rats, rabbits, and vole. Arctic fox are commonplace here, and Dropclan hunting parties are trained with techniques to bring them down. Fishing is difficult in the quick waters, but still a possibility if one is determined enough. Occasionally a bird can be snatched as well. Though rare, the occasional polar bear will wander through the territory, and with such the cats must return to camp immediately. Snowy owls, eagles, and gyrfalcons are common predators. Pelt Colours // Due to Dropclan’s colourful summer landscape, the cats are often sporting vibrant reds, browns, and whites. The population of calicos and torties is greatly increased. The coat length is the most varied, with short pelts to long. Traversing the thick plant growth and hill scattered territory is difficult without long legs, with powerful hind leg muscles; which is exactly why this is commonplace for Dropclan cats. Names // Dropclan cats appreciate pretty names, often based around the flora and fauna. Examples include berry, petal, leaf, moss, fox, marble, and pebble. Morals // Dropclan cats are very soft and kind. They appreciate the finer things in life, and very much pride themselves in learning the basic art of healing early on. These cats believe heavily in harmony amongst all, and will aid those in trouble, regardless of political standing. Because of this, Dropclan is sometimes accused of having 'no backbone'. They believe heavily in starclan for their diplomacy and healing arts. STATS 5 toms, 4 mollies, 1 NB
