Synopsis: Get clicker trained by the world's most shadiest man!
You were helping Kohaku out by bringing a decently sized log in your hands, while she carries 5 of them with ease.
“Y/N-chan!!” Gen yelled out, which caused you to jump and almost drop it.
“Gen! You scared me..”
“Sorry dear! But I want you to assist me right now. Hope you're not too busy~.”
“Oh, not too busy, I'm just moving this log over to Kaseki. Is it important?”
“Very important! I need my beautiful assistant with me.” He gestured dramatically.
“If that's the case, alright. Give me a minute to hand this over.”
“Ha! No need to trouble yourself, I can carry one more of those.” Kohaku insisted.
“Oh okay… if you say so.” You carefully placed the log in her full hands, impressed that she managed to hold those out as if they weighed like nothing.
“Come with me Y/N-chan~ let your dear mentalist lead the way.” He gestured his hand and turned to leave a few steps ahead, and immediately you catched up with him after waving Kohaku a quick good bye.
“So, what'cha need me for?” You prodded a question.
“I have a really onderful-way way to spend our precious time together!” He placed his hands inside his yukata innocently, but the way he smiled was deemed suspicious for you. You know him well enough to know whether he's being genuine or planning something big.
“Don't you think we spend too much time together?” You smirked at him.
“What nonsense are you blabbering about my dear? Are you saying you hate to be with me? How ean-may!”
“Of course not silly. I'm just wondering why you suddenly need my presence out in the open.”
“I always need you dear, I'm just very sly about it.”
“Yeah sure.” You rolled your eyes as you spoke with obvious sarcasm.
…
“You're quite pretty today aren't you dear?” He blurted out randomly. It made you a bit flustered from his sudden compliment, cheeks colored in a slight blush of red. Before you could process your feeling, a noise interrupted you. You thought to yourself that you're just hearing things.
“You're getting ridiculous Gen…”
“Always ridiculous when it comes to you Y/N-chan~.” He exclaimed with glee, which made you feel your face growing hotter.
“Whatever! Aren't we supposed to be doing God knows what? Where's the need for assistance?” You tried your best to hide the mess of your face under the questions, but he already knows his words got to you.
“Why of course! Really orgetful-fay of me to tell you that there's no need to assist me.”
“What? You're saying I stopped helping Kohaku just for the sake of your shenanigans?” You crossed your arms and your eyes narrowed in annoyance.
“Apologies for wanting attention from my darling. I didn't know it was a crime now!” He shamelessly acted as if you stabbed his heart.
“You're lucky I love you.”
“Oh? Who do you love?” He leaned his head a few centimeters from yours at the side. His face is slightly covered from his hands that are inside his long sleeves.
“I-I said I love you.” You stuttered at your words from his sudden close proximity.
“Glad to hear that, my dear.” He whispered against your ear. And without warning, the little noise appeared again. This time slightly louder. You blinked quickly at it, wondering where it's coming from. But before you had the chance to ask, he pulled away to give you some distance.
“Since you love me so much, would you mind accompanying me just a little longer? For the sake of this poor mentalist?” His eyes grew wide as he pleaded with a soft, whiny voice. You hate it when he uses that tone because he knows he can get anything he wants with it.
“Okay, okay! I'll stay.” You gave in quickly, you can't believe he's using those puppy eyes against you. He's really lucky he looks cute doing it.
“Lovely! You're really generous aren't you, my sweetheart?”
Your face grew hot once more at his compliments, he's playing with your heart with such grace you feel like it's going to explode inside you. And the click entered your ears again which followed after he muttered those sweet phrases.
“What's the matter Y/N-chan? Quiet aren't we?” He teased, a playful grin was plastered onto his face.
“No! I'm just having some thoughts.” You quickly defended.
“Is it about little ol’ me?” He leaned in again, this time his face hovered over you. You can see the tiny details like the way his cerulean eyes widened slightly, the number of lashes you could count, and the perfect cracks of his petrification mark.
“Yeah…” You muttered breathlessly.
“Good to hear my dear, as lovely as the other times.” His breath hits your face as he mumbled. Like usual, the clicking noise popped up. You felt your heart pick up its pace for a split second from the sound, you're starting to like those clicks. Like a lot. You can't describe why you do, the reason is still unknown.
The atmosphere changed into something more intimate rather than a playful banter between two lovers. For once in this Stone World, it's a place just for the two of you to take in the image of one another with admiration no other can replicate. It felt delicate and fragile, that one touch could shatter the vulnerable moment into nothing but particles of dust.
His face still hovered over you, pupils blown wide with a real smile. Not the smile of a scheming magician, but a smile of a man that loves their partner until the end of time. As slow as a sloth, he began to take a small step back from you, putting a stop to whatever was happening between you two.
“You know, it's impressive how someone like you can capture my heart so easily. You're amazing my dear.” He quietly broke through the silence. Your eyes lightened up, but it looked like it's still expecting something. You couldn't point out what it you're waiting for. You were feeling impatient as seconds passed by, looking up at him with a slight frown when nothing happened.
And then, he laughed. Genuinely laughed.
“Y/N-chan you adore me! Who would have expected you would be into this?” He said as he wiped away a stray tear with a chuckle.
Your expression shifted to confusion from his outburst. “What are you laughing at?”
“At you my dear! I'm way too pleased to know my little trick would work on you!” He finally calmed himself down.
“Trick?” You slightly tilted your head sidewards. Then, he revealed something in his hands that was hiding in his sleeves this whole time. A small makeshift clicker. You looked at it as if it gave you the hardest math equation.
“This my dear, is a handy clicker that Senku-chan made just for me! I worked 4 hours overtime because of this, but it's totally worth it seeing you basically drool for it! Even better than the cola he made.” He mused as he waved off the object in the air.
“You used a damn clicker on me?!” You shrieked in mortification.
“Correct! You should've seen how desperate you looked back there! It's way too precious, too bad cameras don't exist.”
“This is so embarrassing…” You complained.
But secretly, you enjoyed it a lot, although you wouldn't admit that out loud. It'll only motivate him more to use more tricks like those on you. Just this once, you'll allow him to have his way with you.
Another clicker training fic wth, do I suck at writing these tho?? 😢 This was made just for @taigumii hehehe. Lmk if there's anything I should work on more since I'm still new at this whole writing fanfiction:)
Today's Dr Stone Tarot Card analysis is going to be on one of my favorite characters in the series, Asagiri Gen. As mentioned in previous posts, this card is associated with The Moon a lot and sometimes with The Devil card. I came to a different conclusion and think that this card is actually The Hanged Man. I give my reasons and here is The Hanged Man for reference.
The Hanged Man Meaning:
Upright: Pause, Surrender, Letting Go, New Perspectives
On The Hanged Man card we see a young man suspended form a T-shaped cross made of living wood, as indicated by the leaves and branches growing off the cross. The young man is suspended by his right leg with his left leg crossed in front forming an inverted triangle. The Hanged Man is viewing the world from a very different presepective then everyone else from his current position with a serene and calm look on his face. The calmness of his demeanor suggests that he is hanging upside-down on his own terms and that he is there by choice. He has a halo above his head suggesting his insight, awareness, and enlightenment about his situation and meditations. The Hanged Man, in tarot, is the card of ultimate surrender, of being suspended in time and is a reminder of self-sacrifice needed to be made for the greater good.
On the Gen card we see Gen siting cross-legged looking up at a glowing rochelle salt (the crystal made from the wine crystals to create the microphone for the cell phone) with a calm and serene look on his face. Gen's hair and lavender robe are billowing up slightly as if air is under them (or this card is reversed *wink wink*).
But darling, Gen isn't upside-down and that is kind of a prominent feature of this card! How can you possible say that Gen is representing The Hanged Man when he isn't upside-down and you have used the position of other figures on cards to justify your reasoning for other card assignments? I would like to reference this clip from the same ending credits scene in Season 4 for my reasoning:
Yeah, Gen is not upside-down on the card itself, but he was upside-down in the credits. Is it a stretch? Maybe. But the fact that his jacket and hair are billowing up and he is the only thing on the card with a glowing object above his head also makes me think Gen is representing The Hanged Man here. But does his character development fit The Hanged Man's meaning? Absolutely. Let's explore that a bit.
When The Hanged Man card shows up in a tarot reading it is a strong indicator that you need to take a pause in your life to mull over the current situation otherwise the Universe will do it for you, voluntarily or involuntarily. What is Gen constantly doing in the anime and manga? He is constantly asking people to "hold on a minute" and to see things from a different perspective. Sometimes Gen does slight-of-hand and illusions, but ultimately Gen is a Mentalist. He is a master of human psychology and getting people to see things from a different point of view. That is literally the basis of who he is as an entertainer is to get you to see things from a perspective of his choosing.
The Rochelle salt is a wonderful touch to this card, imo, because it alludes one of the most prominent examples of Gen's abilities as a Mentalist in the first season. He used his voice mimicking skills, powers of persuasion, and ingenuity to come up with a way to get Tsukasa's followers to have doubt in their minds about the validity of Tsukasa's vision and goals. By mimicking the famous diva, Lilian Weinberg, along with the use of Senku's cell phone and the glass record recording Gen was able to weaken Tsukasa's Empire before Tsukasa realized he was engaged in battle.
Other times that Gen really pulled out the Mentalist tricks was with Moz and the American's, Dr. Xeno and Stanley Snyder. With Moz, Gen convinced Moz to delay his decision to kill everyone and got Moz to even join The Kingdom of Science in their plot on Treasure Island to get the Medusa device back. With the American's, Gen stalled Stanley and Dr. Xeno's attack on the Perseus by giving the perception that The Kingdom of Science had the ability to defend themselves more then they actually could. There are numerous other examples that can be listed as well, but I think these three examples are great justification for my opinion that Gen is really good at getting folks to pause and see things from a different point of view. He is one of my favorite characters and I could talk about him all day, but I will spare you from that with this post.
So this concludes my Dr. Stone Tarot Card analysis series from the season 4 credits. If more tarot cards show up in the upcoming season credits I will take the time to analyze those if I can find good pictures of the cards to work off of. I would like to thank @ChifuyuEmma on Pintrest for making nice visuals of these tarot cards so I could actually get a good look at them. If anyone wants to see where I got the Raider Waite images you can go to biddytarot.com and look at the Major Arcana section of their website.
As always, if you have any questions and would like to comment why you agree of disagree with my analysis on this card or any of the other cards feel free to do so. I don't claim to be 100% correct on what these card represent and I love a good back and forth if you have good reasons for your thoughts. This was fun and I look forward to more Dr. Stone episodes coming out on Crunchyroll on July 10th. I'm super excited about that and I look forward to any comments or questions that may come up. Ciao!
