Dru Hill – In My Bed (1996)
Love Song...Songs...yeah it's a list thing lol
I love love and the songs that come with it. On this special day I'll just share my top 7 love songs. Cause why not? Everyone has songs that describe them or mean a great deal! I originally was going to do an art piece but honestly I didn't have the time, so this felt the quickest solution.
Here we go!!!
These are in no real order. 1.) These Are The Times (Dru Hill) 2.) For Good (Wicked) 3.) Dos Oruguitas (Encanto) 4.) Love Like You (Steven Universe) 5.) Would You Fall in Love Me Again? (EPIC: The Musical) 6.) Can't Help Falling in Love with You (Kina Grannis) 7.) I Hear A Symphony (Cody Fry) . . . . . ...and here's why lol 1.) These Are The Times This song by Dru Hill takes me waaaay back. Yet when I hear this song, it is such heavy yearning and "courting" if that makes sense? Like this is one of those old school jams you slow dance to and maaaan...it just sets a mood. It also has a 2.) For Good This is honestly my favorite song from Wicked overall. I honestly blame my first DnD character Ronin, it's a song I picked for him and his wife. However this is a song about impact, connections, and love for the person you're close with. How they affect you in some way. Also both old and new versions are great! 3.) Dos Oruguitas Song that holds a special place in my heart. Love this damn song so much, a song about growing and while in separation still finding love with the one meant for you. Which is hell atm but I can never hate this song. Also "Encanto" is amazing, if you haven't seen it then go see it! Also yes both versions are great, but I do prefer the non-english version. It feels more powerful. 4.) Love Like You (Steven Universe) If you're an SU fan then you know this song is a banger, I don't think Steven Universe has a weak song. Anyway this is a great love song because this is about loving yourself and seeing what others see. Love can make people see the potential you have that you're ignorant of. Whether that be a friend, family, or partner. 5.) Would You Fall in Love Me Again? (EPIC: The Musical) EPIC is amazing and has so many bangers, yet again I'm a sucker for romance. This ending song of two lovers apart coming together and while one does not feel worthy, the other deeply yearns and proves them wrong. Sometimes with love with time apart you will have to relearn the person again, but you'll still see the parts you loved all the same! This song is a perfect example of love, reconnection, and triumph. 6.) Can't Help Falling in Love with You (Kina Grannis) I love the Elvis version but, bite me this version is amazing. Also "Crazy Rich Asians" is a banger of a movie, go watch it!! This version is so soft and yet powerful, makes you feel like it's one of those scenes with rain and someone is holding a boombox, or running into the arms of the person you love. Or marrying them funny enough lol. 7.) I Hear A Symphony (Cody Fry) I think this song perfectly shows what love or realizing what love is like. Everything feels quiet, till someone comes and changes the tune. Soon it grows more and more, and then finally you have the entirety of the orchestra and it's something that doesn't get replicated by anyone!!! It's a wonderful feeling!
....IDK have 3 bonus songs that I'm not explaining but have the links and find out on your own lol. Hope this was...something? lol You (Jesse Powell) All I Ever Ask (Freddie Jackson) Close to You (BeBe and CeCe Winans) Happy Valentines Day!!!

I listen to just about all of these people on a very regular basis. I can only imagine what it was like to experience this music in real time.
