Nah, if you harm children, you get a coffin with an air pipe and you get put underground. No wasting resources on your life, or death, you're in a landfill til you starve to death in the dark. And that's only if the victim/victim's family doesn't shred you to pieces first. Prison abolition is cool and all, but something still has to be done about the people who commit reprehensible crimes and can no longer be a part of society. Even if everyone is on equal standing and has plenty of everything, there are still going to be those criminals, and we will still have to do something about it. My sister's like, "an island!" No. We tried that with Australia. If we sent them to the island with only penguins, they would harm the penguins. Underground. I used to say shoot them into the sun, but the fucking resources that would take. Housing them until death, transporting them anywhere, even torturing them to death... Waste of resources. Now, my boss has a story about one of his old nursing charges. The man was developmentally... What's the new nice word for retarded? His mental development literally stopped around age 6, but of course his physical development did not. He was cared for at home and had friends, and, somehow, he was left to "babysit" another child. When the parents came home, the teen brought their dead son to them like a broken toy, asking them to fix him. The autopsy report showed clear evidence of reprehensible crimes being committed. So. Do I believe someone who can't understand the concept of death and other consequences of their actions should be punished? No. Do I believe they should not be allowed to interact with the rest of society, or reproduce and care for children? Fucking, yeah.

Is that eugenics? To sterilize someone who has a 99% percent chance of abusing any child they create? I feel the same way about fathers and mothers who have 6 children in the foster system, tbh. I feel like that's child safeguarding.
