Dry Feb.

I decided to try this to raise some funds this year for The Canadian Cancer Society. Those who know me know I've had battles with alcohol in the past, been through Alcoholics Anonymous, lost friends because of my behaviour while drunk, and self-medicated for my ADHD through alcohol. I've had liver damage, lost time, all sorts of fun stuff.

I still drink on occasion, though not nearly as much as I used to, and this has been a challenge for me for the past 12 days. It's been a struggle some days to not drink, but I'm getting by. It's not anything I think I'll ever be able to leave behind, but I have learned to live with it, and to a certain extent, control it.

If you want to support the Canadian Cancer Society, please consider donating - if not to me, just donate if you can in general. Cancer is something that affects a lot of people, my family included, and if I can help in some small way I'll do it.

Dry January?

There's a party going on over on FB because it's the first weekend after dry January. Seems like a lot of folks are going to be nursing sore heads tomorrow. Not me though. Pass me another green tea please. My dry January started November before last and there's no sign of the drought ending. My pocket's happier, I'm happier, and so many good things have happened post vino I think I'll stick with it thank you.
