In the world of Dark Souls, as the flame fades, the distinction between life and death vanishes once again. So, no character can truly die; it's simply a gameplay convention. Even the corpses we find with loot are actually undead like other Hollows, simply "stopped moving" due to the fading of their souls and their lack of purpose.

So I portrayed Lautrec as hollow after his storyline.
