On a less... Risky note, I love the Defiant. I tend to get very attached to ships, and I love especially the image of big old star cruisers like the Enterprise or the Oddysey from before as these big space whale things, with the smaller runabouts from ds9 swarming around it like remora. The Defiant, by contrast is a mean little thing that only knows how to use forbidden Romulan technology and blow itself up using its own engines. She's like Kira's spirit animal. I love her.

I think about this a lot, but when ds9 first got the defiant, they had a romulan on board to use the cloaking device to protect its technology, but then like. the romulan immediately dies in the gamma quadrant and never gets replaced?? like what's up with that

sisko mentions that they can only use the cloaking device in the gamma quadrant for maybe a season (probably less)

anyways my point is, do the romulans not even care about the cloaking device at a certain point (after they signed the non-aggression pact with dominion maybe? but I cant believe the romulans would just leave the cloaking device in federation hands like that) or were the writers just lazy lol

DS9 3x09 Defiant thoughts (I'm re-watching, so there may be future spoilers)

I'm curious what the O'Brien thing is. Does that come up again? Is this an actual grievance or just something made up?

"I am sorry about lying to you, and I'm sorry about using you." Tom's so eerily similar to Riker. I know that's the point but still. Or maybe it's the fact that he's only different a little bit sideways.

"And the Order chose not to share this intelligence with the Central Command?" I don't usually like the Order, but I'll approve of anyone who can make Dukat so outraged XD

I LOVE watching Sisko acting in the best of faith. Going above and beyond just because it is the right thing to do.

"I only wish we had someone with such keen tactical instincts who could have prevented this invasion of our territory." Dukat's face.

Dukat's so manipulative. He knows Sisko will respect his fatherly aspect more than anything else.

Noooo Sisko don't fall for it and make a connection

I really like Korinas. To be honest, Lady Cardassians are generally wonderful.

The political manoeuvring going on here is super interesting

That kiss surprised me - I'd completely forgotten they'd spent the evening together the day before!
