Hi, Cosmictuesdays!
Since your Passover-on-DS9 post delighted me so much earlier this year, when I received your name in the card exchange I decided I wanted to send you a similar bit of not-fic about Hanukkah on DS9. But what started out as bullet points turned into an outline of a Hanukkah episode, complete with silly Quark subplot (he tries to monetize dreidel, the converted dabo table runs for eight days on the power supply normally used in one). Writing the whole of it out would full this card twice over - so I'm going to give you the highlights reel here, and the rest of it on Tumblr after you've received this.
O'Brien and Bashir decide to search out a Maccabees-related holosuite program, or make one of their own should none exist.
The Sisko family cookbook has a dozen different recipes for latkes - some Cajun fusion, some with potato alternatives, some with what are normally toppings stuffed inside. Ben makes the classic from his childhood. (Odo helps stir the batter.)
The only alien to love the story of the battle for the Temple/Judea more than Worf is Kira, for reasons that should be pretty obvious.
Molly and Kirayoshi, with their mother's guiding hand, light the menorah.
Bashir bring sufganiyot. Besides being more of a him-friendly texture than grated potato, it's also one of the few things that he treasures from childhood without teenage revelations souring it. (Kukalaka is another.)
Jake takes this opportunity to introduce Nog to this part of his herigate and culture - between what Nog and Quark say, Rom gets a very confused idea of what the holiday is about, but he brings a platter of crispy fried tubeworms, which Sisko declares a non-tradition, but tasty, take on the fried foods concept.
Hope this card brightens up your day, and finds you having a very happy Hanukkah.

As you can see, this was too joyful not to share.
