Pairing: Ranboo x gn!Reader (platonic)

Summary: After many long years, you reunite with an old Minecraft friend.

You’ve always loved Minecraft but you weren’t exactly sure why. Whether it be the simpleness of single-player or being able to interact with so many random people in multiplayer, you’d spend hours at a time playing the game and discovering new ways to entertain yourself.

During one of your many-hour sessions you met someone by the name of “Ranboo”. Their avatar was similar to the game’s “Enderman” but with a crown on his head and half of his body black and half white. Your first time meeting this player would not be the last as you two continue to play games together months on end. From survival, to creative and to just chatting with each other about your own lives. He was your best-friend

A few years passed and you had started to play Minecraft less and less. School work and real life stuff had piled up meaning you had little to no time to play games anymore. It was really a shame, but you truly had to focus on work.

It was a friday night when you had gotten through majority of your work for the week and decided to take a much needed break. You sat down on your bed and opened up your laptop to view the desktop. You sat and stared screen trying to decide what to do with yourself. It was then you laid your eyes upon the Minecraft icon. It was only a moment before you decided to launch it.

You made yourself familiar with the layout once again as things have changed from the last time you played. Taking a look at the multiplayer screen, you decide to enter “Hypixel”.You looked around. Particles flashing, people rushing by, it was all so overwhelming. Minecraft had truly peaked in popularity, but you hadn’t really figured out why. While trying to figure out how to go into a game you receive a message in chat.

Ranboo: hello! do you remember me?

You stare at the message, trying to recall any memories that may be buried deep in your mind.Your hands hover over the keyboard as you try to decide what to do. That is until a familiar avatar appears in front of you.

“Ranboo”

And then it all comes back to you.

You start clicking at the character, jumping frantically in excitement in which he does the back, if not even more excitedly.

It didn’t take long for the two of you to start playing some games together. Ranboo helped show you the ropes. Although you had played hundreds of hours before hand, it’s almost as if it’s a whole new game. He showed you skywars, bedwars, build battle and many more.

Eventually, the session had to come to an end. It wasn’t until you checked the time to see it was almost 1am that you realised you had been playing for so long. You said your goodbyes and shut your laptop down, putting it to the side.

You flop back onto your bed with a big sigh. You can’t help but smile, and that smile just grows bigger and bigger. You roll over and smoosh your head into your pillow and try your best to go to sleep.

You found your best friend.
