Ghostbur as a concept and character is intrinsically tied to c!Wilbur and his whole story purpose is to show us further sides to c!Wilbur's character

If you analyze Ghostbur, you analyze c!Wilbur, there's no other way around it

And all his issues with his memory and stuff come back to c! Wilbur's trauma. The blue comes back to something c!Wilbur did first while alive. His desire to keep people happy while suffering himself ("I still feel this, and I'm trying to make sure that nobody else feels it") is an echo of how c!Wilbur lived

So anyway, making ghosts on the server in general just a gimmick based off of Ghostbur and making them have kinda the same problems in a different font feels hollow as shit

Wilbur died sad, so Ghostbur forgot all his grief and pain, appearing to Wilbur’s friends and family as an overly positive shell of who they once loved. 

Ranboo died in fear, so Boo feels none of it, no anxiety or worries at all, even the good kinds that cause you to care for others. 

Schlatt died working out and drinking, succumbing to his self destruction in one final big blow, so that’s all Glatt does now, the only thing he can remember. 

Mexican Dream died horny or something idk GG gamer fly high

wait so

if c!schlatt has only technically lost two canon lives but he’s still in the afterlife with Mexican Dream

(and just like Ghostbur and Alivebur, him and Glatt are separate entities that can fuse together)

does that mean that when you die a canonical death and still have one or two left that you can CHOOSE whether or not you respawn??

like maybe schlatt is just waiting till some conflict passes so he wont be at risk of dying again and then coming back

idk how that works and did think it was amazing story wise how he died and its a good way to cap off his character so idk if i want him back but its just something ive been thinking abt

EDIT: even if his death when caught in the crossfire when techno killed tubbo, im still wondering whether you can consciously choose to be revived at that instant or wait, or you automatically come back

EDIT 2: ok so the crossfire death is canon so scrap all of that😬 still fun to think about tho

thinking abt dsmp ghosts and why they might be the way they are

ranboo hated himself and was miserable, and so in death is glad that he’s dead

wilbur tried so hard to make himself important and unforgettable, only to forget himself and drift at the edges of people’s lives instead of standing at the centre

even schlatt, wanting to be powerful and in control, and then in death… invisible, intangible, sleeping

not really going anywhere with this, just thinking thoughts
