2/9: Luigi's Ghostly-Electric Get-go!

Inspired by the Project Voltage Miku 18 types, I'm going to draw 10 (there are 9 entries but one will involve double) characters from Super Mario with two types associated to each of them.

Of course with Mario comes Luigi, and I went Ghost-buster/Electrician with his costume. The mismatched detachable sleeves, the Dusk Ball boots, and Rotom Poltergust- chef's kiss.

Shiny Jolteon is my Electric pick, given I tend to associate Shiny Eevee for him a lot, and Gimmighoul alludes to Luigi's Mansion and how you need to collect money to upgrade Lu's Poltergust, which is the same means to evolving Gimmighoul.

Commission A friend of mine asked me to draw them 4 Dual-Type Ninetails Variants: Ice/Electric, Grass/Steel, Ghost/Water, and Bug/Dark

Ice/Electric is based on the Aurora Borealis Grass/Steel is based on the Gladiolus Flower, AKA the Sword Lilly Ghost/Water is based on a Portuguese Man-o-war And Bug/Dark is based on the Spider-Tailed Horned Viper's tail lures

Another sun and moon pair! These guys are based off beta/old versions of Espeon and Umbreon.

Beta Espeon used to evolve via the Heart Stone and had a yellow appearance and fully split tails. Beta Umbreon used to be a poison type with purple markings and thinner rings.

I did add some of my own flair though, particularly with Hearteon’s markings, Hearteon’s heart-shaped gem, and Poiseon’s poison drop shaped markings. I also added the dark type to Poiseon to help it fit better with the moon and added the fairy type to Hearteon to make it also a dual type.

I also referenced the gender differences they had in the Gen IV beta, where female Espeon and Umbreon had short ears. I’m glad this change didn’t get through beta, but it helped me add another detail to differentiate them further. Their shinies are also based off the Stadium 2 shinies of Espeon and Umbreon.

I will admit, I struggled slightly with their item. I almost considered using the beta Heart Stone and Poison Stone, but decided against it. I feel gameplay wise, the Shards fit best, since I could see these guys being Gales of Darkness exclusive. But, I already used the Shards and also I do think the Hearts fit nicely. Both because of Hearteon’s heart theme and because these guys are very much a tribute to Espeon and Umbreon through the years.

Also want to give a quick note to RacieBeep and how his interpretations of beta Espeon and beta Umbreon from their sprites really helped me, particularly with the whiskers and ears of Hearteon being connected and Poiseon’s eyes!

deviantArt Pokemon group needs new founder

The premise is simple: dual-type Pokemon that have "Normal" as one of their types. Each folder in the group represents a different Pokemon type, and they're listed in alphabetical order, followed by a folder for multiple Pokemon and a folder for craft items. There are a couple of folders "missing," as there currently aren't any half-Normal Pokemon of those types.

The group does not accept fakemon under my leadership, but the new Founder is welcome to allow it. I just ask that a new folder be created so that official Pokemon don't risk getting flooded out.

The rules are linked prominently on the group's front page. I ask that applicants for the role of founder provide a quick rundown of the rules to prove that they've been read and understood, along with any questions or comments they may have about rules they want to change or add.

To apply, message me here on tumblr or send a note to PetersonPhotos on dA. If you seem trustworthy, I'll invite you into the group as a Contributor. You'll have a higher post limit than regular members and will be allowed to post to Featured. I may ask a few questions before I invite you. You do not have to already be a member to apply.

If your application fails to do what I have asked of you, you will be barred from becoming the new founder.
