Send me ‘►►’ to see what my muse would be like if an important event in their life didn’t happen.
If Looker never ran away from his home in Santalune City when he was younger...
With this event technically being the catalyst for the rest of his life events, it’s safe to say that if he remained in Kalos--even if he just moved to another city--that what his life is now and what it would have been would two completely different worlds.
Even though the possibility of him still joining Interpol is there, it’s highly unlikely (seeing as his girlfriend-turned-wife in Sinnoh was the one to kinda inspire that choice). So, with that said, there’s three main paths this route could take: Looker--just Richard from his point on--could have either gave into his father’s demands and joined the Kalosian military, retraced his youth to follow his dream of being a professional baseball player, or, the most likely option, was go back and continue his Pokemon journey. The last option seems a bit more favorable, seeing as at this point he’d already have his own Pokemon, Croagunk, and a bit of experience in training having traveled with his friends previously and obtaining two of the eight badges already (look at that, one-fourth of the way done!).
Of course, the other two are still options. The possibility of Rich taking his father’s road of becoming a soldier is still a valid one, and while nothing too exciting would probably come about this path (I mean, I would assume that all the regions are at peace with each other so unless something were to happen then???) but let’s say Kalos ends up going to war or something and Rich has to fight. He’s suddenly in the same shoes his old man was--killing for sport. No doubt this would not only fuck him up pretty bad overall, but one of his worst nightmares would then come true: he’d become just like his father. And if there’s one thing Rich hates probably more than anything, it’s that old man.
On a lighter note, the Pro Baseball path would be a dream come true for Rich. All those years of his father’s neglect and “you’re not good enough for that”s would be a nice “fuck you, look at me now” sentiment. That’d also go to his head probably far too much. Depending on his skill and if he’d be good enough to help win games and even championships, there’s a chance that Rich would become a bit cocky in his attitude. And in turn, perhaps a sore loser as well. Winning leads to success, and success leads to fame, probably giving that man such an swelled head, he wouldn’t be able to fit it though the fucking door. He’d take up promotions and get millions (some Poke he’d send to his mom, but probably give nothing to his dad, pffft), get loud if his team wasn’t on top--basically he’d be an overinflated, obnoxious superstar probably.
