Dublin Core
Am I the only one who thinks “Cottage Core” and the like when they hear anything -core?
Which essentially sums up my first thoughts on Dublin Core - a serious framework for resource description:

(This might seem a bit technical for my type of blog but using properly defined resource description frameworks can really help whenever you work with (digital) resources. Highly recommend.)
Good MOOCs for all us library types.

One of the most important facts for understanding the history of MARC is that the standard was developed specifically in reference to library cataloging rules. MARC fields, and indeed the whole structure of the format, have been designed to accommodate bibliographic cataloging practices under AACR, AACR2, and later RDA. But of course, it isn’t as simple as that; there have also been sporadic attempts at using MARC for other purposes, which have also left their mark on the standard.
We pit two of the most widely used structured data standard - Dublin Core and Schema.org to see which will better prepare your website for semantic web.
The metadata course I am currently enrolled in is really interesting. It's fast-paced but there is a lot to cover so that is understandable. We began with an introduction to XML which I picked up fairly easily as I am familiar with HTML and its similarly formatted. From there, we've covered Dublin Core, CDWA, PREMIS, PBCore, MIX, and METS schema. It's a lot to remember but aside from a few technical issues, I'm keeping up fairly well.
I am so royally fucked. If anyone understands coding, XML, XSLT, and Dublin Core, please lend me your abilities for my final assignment this week
