I really want to ask @tamorapierce why she named the platypus Duckmole in Realms of the Gods. I mean, it's a series where fantastical creatures are a main feature of the story. Can have spiders with people heads and centaurs and flying apes but he's not a platypus, he's a duckmole. I am confusion.
Dont get me wrong, I friggin love the Daine series so much. And i love the duckmole god. He says G'day and everything, like a good Australian platypus should! It's the one part of that book that always needles me as I read it. That and in my head he sounds like a cross between Steve Irwin and someone attempting an Australian accent, but thats my own fault really.
