I've played Cantata in the early stage, I think that at that time it had just till the second chapter? I don't remember Tellus giving us the bead but I do remember having a pet, and naming it Tellus! The anon who gave this idea was a genius.

So, fortunately I found Cantata again! And I'm SO happy that you brought Tellus/Coda back. I've been stalking the Tumblr post to find somewhere where you explain how it's possible that just now Coda/Tellus can be your duette and before he wasn't, but it's too difficult, can you answer again or do you have a link? I'm guessing that Coda will have the opportunity to be a duette since all the other ROs have that possibility.

You have a good memory! The beads weren’t in the original chapter 1 when I first dropped it. I added it with the chapter 2 update. But if you didn’t start over, you may not have noticed.

Coda/Tellus can be your duette, yes. It can still play out that he was your duette all along, you just didn’t know. It’s not a bam! first sight type of thing, but it can be recognized in hindsight. It may be in a quiet, tender moment between MC and Coda. MC will look back and realize there were hints that you were duette all along. For example, someone mentioned that when MC was getting distracted by Tellus playing with the other kids waaaaay back in the beginning, that could have been a sign they were duette. 😉

This reasoning can be applied to all the ROs. The signs are there, you just don’t realize them for what they are: the moment in Darissi when you first see Vicente or Bayram and they both take immediate notice of you; the need you feel to follow Calliope into the docks; the urge to follow Corinne back to her ship; or the simple fact that you recognize each RO again many years later. These moments can all be reasoned away as signs of a duette pairing. 😁

first time submitting an ask...kinda nervous... (also, i apologize if this has been asked prior! i was scrolling through this page for roughly an hour lol)

okay, where do i start. i'm a member on kofi and i had the absolute pleasure of reading the newest chapter before it publicly released. im not gonna give any spoilers for those without a membership, but, to no one's surprise, it's AMAZING. 100/10!!! my mc is at 75% air attunement right now and i patiently yet eagerly await the day she gets to display her abilities! she's an irritable yet teasing mess with complicated feelings towards the empire. initially, i planned for her to romance calliope, but then vincente and coda made me switch sides. (love me a reluctant-ally-to-lovers and childhood-friends trope) she will definitely be romanced in future playthroughs! so will the other ro's!

okay okay, enough of my ranting. onto the ask: How would the RO's react to the MC writing/singing a song about them? Obviously, I don't mean it in a 'Hunter in Ginny and Georgia' way but much more intimate, no one else around. Would any RO's brush it off and call the MC cheesy? Which ones would melt? Decisions, decisions...

As to your question, I apologize, but I’m not going to answer it. It ventures too close to a scene that will eventually happen in story. Your chosen RO will be your duette, and for everyone but Tellus, that’s a melody they can’t hear. So MC will sing that tune for them at some point in the story. And I want you to wait and see their reactions at that time. ☺️

Hi again! So, I just read the latest chapter from ko-fi and I gushed over it by DM on there, but like I mentionned I actually have a general lore question too.

So, at the start of the story the MC asked Unda if she thinks Eva's parents are duette, and they talked about various other things about duette. But now I'm wondering about something. Are the Sideris actually aware of the very concept of duette? And non-Iredicci people in general, for that matter (at least the ones who are not anti-Iredicci)? I was wondering because when the MC realizes that one of the people around them is their duette, then if people in general are not aware of the concept, the MC would actually have to explain to their duette what a duette IS to begin with (unless the player's chosen RO is Coda of course). And similarly, if the MC talks about that with their family and tells them about their bond with whoever will become their partner, then saying they are duette to people aware of the concept would probably mean a lot more than doing so to people who are not aware.

Yeah, I know it's a very specific question that will most likely get answered on its own when time for confessions comes, but I also don't think it's too much of a spoiler to ask now?

Few people outside of the Iredicci would know the term. Even if you’re not actively anti-Iredicci, there’s a stigma with associating with them; very few people would take the time to learn about Iredicci customs and heritage. So yes, MC would have to explain it.

As far as Evelyn and her family, I hadn’t given that much thought. I imagine the word has come up at least once over the years, so while they may not know the specifics, I think they’d know it vaguely as a soulmate kind of thing.
