I realized that my girls cannot actually exist in the same canon and it makes me sad, but I comfort myself in knowing they're all technically the same person—the MC verse—so they’re never really without one another

Pardon me for my ramblings, but I've had this headcanon taunt me for so long i need to talk about it. I like to imagine, that in tandem with the dual harmony of the voice of the Iredicci, Their timbre and pacing match the element of their attunement to some degree. Earth attuned are rough, almost percussive in their tone, but steady. Water attuned have a flow of dialogue that is as calming as listening to rain, Fire attuned are have a bright and snappy tone, or a heavy, almost ashen one. Air attuned voices can be light, but also as strong and, pardon the pun, blustery as a stormy wind. Sometimes, you can hear the ghost of instruments as each speak, however its more the impression that you are left with than the actual instrument itself, and these also correlate with the element; Earth: Drums Air: Woodwind (i wonder why) Fire: Brass

Water: Strings

The stronger the attunement to the Cordis, the more intense the impressions get, and vice versa they wane, as we see with Tellus.

I have many more headcanons, one including a very bad pun, but i've been going on for long enough, though consider this last part foreshadowing if i ever come back to talk about it

Fir i always imagined "singing" was more spiritual than real singing lol idk why but it seems im wrong, do you have examples of the songs?

Combining these 2 since they’re kinda similar, though I’m not sure what the first anon means exactly. It’s actual singing—it’s described like that in several places previously where MC and other characters (like Aestus) sing.

If you mean that the content of the song is spiritual, it can be, but doesn’t have to. I intentionally leave the lyrics, if any, vague so you can imagine it how you want. 😊

The Iredicci don’t celebrate individual birthdays. Instead, they have a day called Primavolta, which is celebrated on the first of spring. It honors not just a new year of life, but the connections the Iredicci have to each other and the earth. Decorations involve a mix of flowers and fruit, symbols of growth and new life.

Think of it as one giant, communal birthday, where everyone gets one year older together, rather than only on their specific birth date. There’s no typical gift exchange beyond food; however, any elders turning 60, 70, 80+ are given special gifts in recognition of their long lives and service to the accord.

It’s a celebration of new life and beginnings; a time for feasting, community, and of course, dancing!

So when Tellus and MC reunite, Evelyn immediately outs Tellus as Irredici when she covers for MC. I'm guessing he's out to the rezistenza? But she didn't know this? Or did I misunderstand?

I guess technically she would have outed him, yes, if they didn’t already know. But Evelyn was only thinking of MC’s safety at that point and doing her best to keep MC’s identity a secret. And frantically at that.

But the Resistenza already knew. There were hints about his identity throughout the chapter: Corinne mentions he can see and hear better than anyone; Nik being surprised the noise didn’t wake him; and Corinne said he’s survived worst, alluding to The Proelium.

So I know a lot more exciting things have been happening recently. My question feels a bit silly in comparison >.> Ummmm. When the story talks about the beaded jewelry Tellus gives us and says it's in orange, yellow and red... Do you picture that like.. one bead is one color, or each bead being multiple colors? Does that make sense? My guess is the skill of a tiny Tellus is likely one color per bead, but I dunno! For arting purposes :3

A bit of both, I guess? I picture the beads themselves as a sort of burnt orange or brick red. Then the swirls and etchings on them are painted in orange and gold hues. I picture them like the photo in this post here, but honestly, you can imagine the beads however you want. 😁

This might be a weird question but what do the surviving workers and soldiers in the hangar that were present for the destruction of the airships think happened?

Do they think it was a simple malfunction? Coincidentally in all ships at the same time…

Do they suspect sabotage? Do they suspect it was an iredicci considering the rather unnatural behaviour of the elements?

Could they hear mc’s singing? Surely not considering the distance, right?

Or does the possibility not cross their minds? On that note, have there been other iredicci sabotaging the Regis’s plans at some point or would mc be like the first? (Not counting Tellus, I mean like elemental-based sabotage)

Most iredicci are brought to tinebaille for safety from what I remember. Mc is like the first and only iredicci fighter of the resistenza that can make use of their song and abilities + child of a duette. A unique kind of threat to the Regis.

Omg it would be so fun if at some point we find out the Regis has given out an order to capture mc just like he did for Aestus…

Excellent question! The singing could easily be heard by those in the hangar and the factory; the Ossequenti in particular would have recognized the song for what it was, and reported back to the regis. The destruction happening in the airships themselves was louder than MC’s singing. However, the sound does amplify when an Iredicci really strains, as MC did, so those on board may have heard it faintly.

Aestus used their song a few times in the year they were traveling, and some Iredicci (like Unda) fought back during The Proelium, so the regis does understand the power they’re capable of. But MC is the first Iredicci in years to weaponize their song, and to such a degree.

As for the rest of your ask… ahem, we shall see. 😉

might be an odd ask, but do the irredicci have any specific makeup/facepaint designs they do?

That’s a good question I hadn’t really considered. I didn’t envision them with face paint or make up of any kind.

One idea I’ve been playing around with lately is hair dyes, though. The idea of another variable makes my head swim, lol, 😵‍💫 but it’s an idea I’ve been tossing around in my head.

They’re proficient with making clothing dyes, so hair dyes seems a natural next step, and the Iredicci are fond of vibrant colors. I kept hair color options standard, and that might be a neat way to implement more variations.

If I do this, I may eventually go back and include it in the first chapter, but I’m thinking of introducing that aspect when MC meets other Iredicci. So many ideas… 🤔
