Learn the difference between hurricanes, cyclones and typhoons

Aside from where these storms take place, they all are the same weather phenomenon.

Bomb Cyclones, the coming storm: Meteorological Idiots

They are telling us we are about to get hit by a “Bomb Cyclone” Not very helpful. The naming difference between Typhoons, Cyclones and Hurricanes Is based on geography not the nature of the storm. In the eastern Pacific such storms are correctly called Hurricanes, same as in the Atlantic. We would have to be in the Indian Ocean area for this to be a Cyclone. They should be identifying this coming storm using the same category system the whole country knows and understands from the Atlantic storms so we will have a better Idea of what to expect from this storm, how serious it will be, and how we should prepare to deal with it as it comes ashore.
