was experimenting with flipaclip a couple weeks ago, had a lot of fun with using the glow function to make the shadows blend

it was the first time i’d really enjoyed animating in a long time — making things come to life is just exciting, no matter how clumsy the attempt is!

specially cause first on the bullet list is rendering the establishing shot and actually giving some detail to jon’s shitty tiny lil office, and i hate drawing rooms extremely muchly, it is going to take some banging my head against the wall to find a good harmony between believable perspective, enough clutter to make it nonsterile, and sparse enough to not crowd out the characters

and then i have to figure out what jon’s whole-ass body is doing during the floating head bit, and also finish off the last awkward silence before basira leaves with the pen that she wishes she’d never asked about

the rest of it will involve redrawing their faces into the loose cartoony style that i adopted halfway through, which will be much more fun than the rest of the points on that bullet list.

pretty proud of what i’ve accomplished so far, tbh!! i think i’m actually gonna have something complete and polished enough to feel good about, one of these days

look. look i kNOW i’ve uploaded this like five times already in the past. but Look, i had to 

download my last video from tumblr and import it into animate, 

trace over each frame of the scene that i couldn’t find any copies of on my computer, 

stitch it back onto the original file and fix the size aspect ratio, 

and also i cleaned up some of the timing so that it’s not so achingly slow in certain spots, 

PLUS there’s a rough draft of mr fuckhands mcgee cocking a gun at the very end, 

along with a glimpse of the next scene that happens after that which will be very difficult but I THINK PROBABLY REWARDING. it involves puppets dangling on a string, and the severing thereof. 

so, like, this is my blog and i can reupload the same wip a dozen times if i feel like it. i made progress, even if it’s miniscule and doesn’t seem worth the effort of exporting as a video and uploading here, but i’m proud anyway.
