I believe you've mentioned previously that the Dunewyrms have allied with both the Chroma and the Kuros against each other at various points in history depending on the state of the balance at the time. But, have the Kuros and Chroma ever allied and joined forces against the Dunewyrms?

MOD: The Chroma and Kuros alliances usually never work, since there’s just too much bad blood between them. The Dunewyrms have pissed them both off enough in the past for them to try and team up to teach them a thing or two, which prompted the treaties drawn up that Titus went against.

This particular war is known as ‘The Two Season War,’ which is notoriously short for dragons of any species. Since dragons do have notoriously long lifespans, entire generations can be born and hatched and have their first flight (which is about 80-100 years) until wars end. The Two Season War is one that’s often brought up by the Kuros/Chroma to the Dunewyrms, who were quick to call for peace talks. The Dunewyrms stand for balance above all things, and were willing to give up a few territories (small in comparison to their main kingdom, which is the most important) in exchange for peace and balance to be restored.

Other than this, beyond small skirmishes when someone steps into places they’re not supposed to for too long, the Kuros and Chroma hate each other enough that it’s difficult unless it’s an individual-to-individual basis. Generally, the Dunewyrms are respected enough, though all other species of dragons like to call the Dunewyrms cowards since they aren’t as active in wars unless it looks like balance is going to be shaken up a bit.

What happens to Dunewyrms after the fall of the Kuros and the Chroma?

MOD: The Dunewyrms are actually pretty unaffected by the various wars that go on between all the dragons that live in The Realms until a severe imbalance occurs between the forces of Light and Dark. Not necessarily ‘Good vs Evil,’ mind you. All energy is energy, but in The Realms if there is an imbalance between those who wield power, both ends of the spectrum become incredibly chaotic and The Realms are at risk of Real Bad Shit™. Then they step in, but as far as what they do is kind of unclear. All that’s known is that they are neutral in these affairs, and side with ‘dragonkind’ rather than who’s right or wrong.

In the case of The Kurosian Fall and Warfang’s Sacking, Weird Plot Shit happened that kept them from intervening directly as it was happening.

If Kirin are Umbracorn and Kuros hybrids, are there other types of Dracocorns? Maybe Qilin or Sin-you?

MOD: As far as other kind of Dracocorns, yes that is entirely possible! I actually had plans to incorporate Kirin hybrids between the non-Kuros and unicorns! The practice of crossbreeding though is very frowned on by Chroma society, moreso than it used to be; ever since our fourth species of unnamed dragons started to gain more influence with the Chroma, the Chroma tend to never crossbreed anymore. Nowadays it’s more common with the Dunewyrms to crossbreed with the unicorns, and other species as well. Dunewyrms can practically crossbreed with anything tbh! There’s an idea I’ve had floating around of a Dunewyrm+Naga hybrid, specifically, where it’s essentially a Dunewyrm without hind legs and more snake-like features. (I’m sure you’d be the expert on that type of dragon too hue)

And as far as Qilin or Sin-you hybrids, that is entirely possible! Not exclusive to the Kirin species, though.

What elements do Dunewyrms have?

MOD: Their first breath element is always Fire, and through learning magickal spells for long enough, they can materialize and weaponize maybe one or two other elements. But not for very long. They also don’t manifest from the Core, or the magick center of the Dunewyrm.

This is more of a boring question to some, but what are the major exports of the three dragon nations? What resources do they have in surplus and what do they have to import to survive? What are their various currencies? 😅 I hope I'm making sense.

MOD: You absolutely are making sense! :D So this is something I’ve yet to explore in depth, but off the top of my head this is what stands out to me the most.

Chroma Exports: Gems are their main export and are what keeps them as a top contender for the most successful in commerce. These gems have potent magical qualities, and can be ‘grown.’ But this process is one that is safeguarded by the Molari, a bipedal race of mammals that spend much of their time in the underground tunnels and chambers that lie deep under Wohrfayn City. As long as most Chroma can recall, the Molari are protected by the Chroma, who have agreed to grow the gems in bulk and take some of the profits from the sales. Currencies are unknown, I’d say that a myriad of metallic coins are traded for goods, because you know typical dragon tropes.

Dunewyrm Exports: The number one thing I can think of that the Dunewyrms would provide that other species of dragons can’t are maps. The Dunewyrms don’t give up a lot about how they know the intricate details of every known landmass on their world, but they do, and without the maps the Dunewyrms provide many of the other species would be hopelessly lost. The Dunewyrms also work as mercenaries and bodyguards, as they are a very hardy race, so there’s that as well. Same for currencies apply for the Dunies.

For the Kuros/the fourth dragon species, I’ll let @weirdlanders cover those.

Are we allowed to create fan-species for the original verse, as well as fan characters of the main 3 dragon races?

MOD: Fan species are allowed for the original verse, of course! But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll end up canon. However we both enjoy seeing them, a lot!!!! And as for the main 3, Kuros and Chroma are welcome to have characters made. But the Dunewyrms are still a WIP so it’s hard to say for me personally that it’s okay to make them; hybrids are perfectly fine, most of their main traits is they have more ‘magi-gems’ (but sometimes they don’t inherit them) and their paws usually have four main toe beans and one backward facing toe bean that acts as a thumb of sorts on their hind legs. Other than that, they usually don’t inherit the unique powers that Dunewyrms have (which is....well it’s something else 8′) ) and usually have a much longer/larger wingspan.

Have there been any known, or made hybrids of Kuros and Dunes?

MOD: Kuros and Dunewyrms would often enter into mating contracts when the Dunewyrms weren’t participating in wars against the Kuros! The times that the Dunewyrms entered into wars were usually when the Chroma or Kuros were encroaching on their own territories or when the favors seemed unfavorably stacked, such as the Kuros almost wiping out the Chroma or vice versa. There’s been plenty of Kuros/Dunewyrm hybrids, but they don’t have a specific name or species, they’re just known as Mixed-Blood. Usually Dune/Kuros hybrids were sometimes welcomed into Kuros society, but only if they lived the way that a Kuros does.

I asked this in the Discord, but I'm not sure if you ever saw it. But if Kuros have Kuronium, and Dune Wyrms have Magi Gems, do Chroma have any unique defining anatomical feature, or would is their vibrant colors considered to be their unique defining anatomical feature?

MOD: So a little bit of info about the Magi-Gems that I’ll get more in depth about when I finish the Dunewyrm master-reference:

Magi Gems are basically stones that manifest on some species of dragons that are used for ‘external magic.’ Magi Gems created by Kuros, but for the Kuros the physical manifestations of their own magic is in their Kuronium. Some Kuros can be born with small Magi Gems, but usually if they have Chroma/Dunewyrm lineage.

The reason why the Chroma/Dunewyrms have Magi Gems has a lot to do with god lore that I haven’t set in stone yet, but basically the other species opted out. It’s possible the fourth species of dragons (the Light Dragons) have Magi Gems, but that’s ultimately up to Weird!
