Passage - Dunja Jankovic
Installations made for Prostoria showroom in Zagreb
Here’s a video I made about the printing process and experimentation at the Oficina ARARA studio in Porto, Portugal.
The Feedbackground Entities is a series of prints created through a 3 long days of printing in which only three images (screens) were being used in different combinations of layers, colors, gradients, positions and papers, to create some 300 prints of which only 2 are alike.
Under the title Feedbackgrounds, I have been exploring the possibilities of depicting sounds, movements and vibrations in two-dimensional drawings.
Spent the whole December working on a stop motion animation of my paste-ups in a little pittoresque town of Grottaglia in the south of Italy. Video coming soon!
I came late to the work of Dunja Jankovic, but I really love her two comic books published by Sparkplug Comic Books, Department Of Art and Habitat. The majority of her work was self-published zines, which have eluded me in their rarity, due to my being a latecomer. Until now! Issue 5 of her series Ego has been uploaded to the archive of the New York Cartoon Library, a project spearheaded by Austin English, which is still raising funds for a physical space in New York City where zines can be available for perusal.
