personal opinion but i dont particularly like the way genshin handled elezear??? like i know in the point of view of the actual characters its a good thing but i think its sort of a disservice to collei's character in particular, not to mention the "magical disability cure" trope is just Not Great in general. i was thinking about this and i thought about how collei would actually deal with this in private and imagine the thing that was at fault for everything bad that had ever happened to you just. disappearing without a trace, out of nowhere, after you spent your whole life fighting its battle. i just imagine it would feel. empty?? an empty victory??? like elezear was the reason she was handed over to the seer, it was why everything bad that had happened to her was allowed to happen and now its just gone??? and i think it really cements to collei how powerless she was against it, that for all she did to try to fight and manage it someone else swoops in and it just disappears in a night.
i think the only satisfying way they could have gone about it was perhaps giving those who suffered from it post elezear complications such as chronic pain and difficulty with their hands, ect stuff that they also dealt with when they still had the disease, or even where they still have all the effects from elezear like the scales and stuff but it just no longer spreads?? and maybe overtime it goes away and they get back most of their mobility but it still takes years.
idk i just think its an unsatisfying way to deal with it
