Dustlands Campaign Concept video
So I’m running a Military sci-fi campaign for some friends and I wanted to give them a little taste of what they can expect
We’re using a variation of 5e called “Ultramodern5″ which can be found on DrivethruRPG
The song used in the video is called "As You Like It" by EVE and can be found here
I used a lot of art in this vid, if you want to find the source for a particular piece message me. If I get enough messages I will make a source-list but it is currently 4am at the time of upload so I may be awhile with that.
What's an underrated series you'd like to see more often on #bookstagram? The Dust Lands trilogy by Moira Young is one of my FAVORITES, and I will sing its praises forever. . . In fact ... See that blurb on the cover of Raging Star that says "Better than The Hunger Games"? It's mine. I wrote that in a guest post for MTV back before the first book came out, and now it's on all the covers. YA lit meme: ten series or books: [3/10]
Dustlands by Moira Young
June TBR-
(Not pictured are my NetGalley reads for the month: Lily’s Just Fine and The Babysitter’s Coven.) 1. The Broken Girls by Simone St. James (BoM)-- 1950 at a small town boarding school there are rumors that the place is haunted. It doesn’t help that a girl has now disappeared. 2014 at the same boarding school a journalist digs into Idlewild Hall’s past. 2. Girls in the Moon by Janet McNally (BoM)-- Daughter and sister to two musicians, Phoebe’s tired of her family’s secrets and determined to figure out the truth. 3. Warcross by Marie Lu-- Teenage hacker Emika Chen works as a bounty hunter in the obsessive Warcross video game. When she accidentally glitches herself into the International Warcross Championship her life is turned upside-down. 4. Dust Lands: Blood Red Road by Moira Young-- Post-apocalyptic YA action/adventure novel. I’m reading this based off a BookTuber’s suggestion. 5. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi-- Book three of the Shatter Me series and I cannot wait for it to be over. I’m not a fan of this series, but I had bought it on sale as a box set so it’s getting read no matter what. I cannot wait to drag this one off my TBR shelf this month.
6. Lily’s Just Fine by Gill Stewart (NetGalley)-- Lily Hildebrand’s life is perfect. Or close. She spends her time trying to fix the people around her. Which Tyler really doesn’t need right now with a sick sister and no one able to do a thing about it. A cute summery read.
7. The Babysitter’s Coven by Kate M. Williams (NetGalley)-- Adventures in Babysitting meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer. A group of girls discover magic rituals, superpowers, and saving the innocent from evil.

★★★★☆
I first read this in 2014 and for some reason, despite having owned both the sequels probably since then, never finished the series- and in an effort to clear some shelf space, it's finally time. This book is fantastic! The formatting is a little different- speech marks are non-existent and the whole narrative is written in the world's slang, but I like it. It makes it feel a bit more immersive than the average dystopia. Saba is a great character from the get-go but she really grows over the course of the novel, especially in her relationship with little sister Emmi. There's a bit of early-2010s-dystopia-style instalove but it actually doesn't feel too badly done. Plus an amazing ensemble of side characters, both good and bad, and I don't think they felt too charicature-ish. Solid four stars for me and I can't wait to read what happens next.
I had the felt of taking an image so here is a the image of the dust lands... or at least the gray part of it. Any one can live here, which is the niceing, especialily if you have a the friend who is from a opposite color land of yours
