Does anyone else get overwhelmed from how beautiful the world can be?

I just watched part of the “Diel vertical migration”. Im currently on a little trip to Virginia, and while I have lived in the east coast most of my life, mostly in NC, I never lived/been close enough to the ocean AT NIGHT to witness something like this!! While I mostly just saw zooplankton and what I believe are copepods, it was still amazing to see the little glowing animals jumping in the water, while the bigger fish try to get their dinner 🥹

man I forgot how much I love the ocean.

I have a quick question for the scientists of tumblr.

I've seen on Facebook that a non-thesis based master's can kill your chances of ever going into research. Is this really true? The only programs I got into are non-thesis based, and I'm not feeling well enough for an actual job.

My end goal is a PhD so I don't want this degree to limit my prospects
