Movie Review: You Are So Not Invited To My Bat Mitsvah
There's a lot of movie to enjoy. I'm a fan of Adam Sandler, always love how he puts his friends in the movies, in this case it's his two daughters and wife. So that's fun, and Sunny, playing the lead of Stacy is pretty good.
Ronnie and Zarra are attached at the hip and are best friends and it's never explained, and I kind of love it. Zarra is just always there, one of the family.
Stacy is not the best person. I realize that 14 years old is a hard age, between fitting in and obligations and being awkward - it's hard. But Stacy makes so many bad decisions in a row that you start to wonder if maybe she isn't a good person at heart. And that makes it hard to relate to her.
Her speech and narration (and giving her party to Lydia) wrapped everything and showed her growth and coming to terms with the decisions she made and the consequences. I would have preferred her to make more balanced decisions, some good, some bad, some neutral. Which is what I think most teenagers experience.
Nitpicking moment... If a friend made an entrance video for your party, you would watch it before the party. Period. There is no absolutely no doubt that Lydia would have watched so this was so contrived for drama, that it's distracting.

Review: I liked the trailer up until I saw the names of the actresses and then I felt weird. This is basically a nepo…
