“Are you implying the Academy is to blame for these deaths?”
“Someone connected to the Academy, yes, hence the Academy itself.”
“Well that’s absurd. By your standard, every crime committed by a Christian will be a stain on Christ.”
“ And so it is.”

"Often the cuts that are more nerve-racking and thought-provoking, to me, are the slower, quieter ones..." - Editor Dylan Tichenor on There Will Be Blood
“Because that character Daniel plays is such an A-hole, he’s captivating but he’s not really sympathetic, and so we’re supposed to watch this guy the entire time and care about what he cares about - and that’s a tall order. So one of the challenges of this film was to try and get inside the story in a way where we could understand more about this guy than maybe is on the page. Part of doing that was through H.W., the little kid, which was a lot less than in the script. So I kept asking Paul for more shots of H.W., we need to do stuff where we shift the scene to focus on H.W., where the same stuff is happening but lets watch it through his point of view.”
