You finally won me over.
I've only ever seen shorts of yours where you were rather negative, so I thought you were just another ragebait engagement farmer. But a couple days ago, my friends showed me your shorts about Rain Shepherd Milio and the Space Groove line, and your raw joy in those is infectious.
I've since watched more of your content, and you have actually interesting things to say about the things you talk about. You scratch a certain Literary Analysis Itch in my brain that feels like being back in that one really good English class I had back in uni.
Not sure what the moral of this anecdote is. I just like your content and hope you keep succeeding. I'm glad to have been wrong about you.
Yeah, unfortunately, negativity tends to be what performs best in social media algorithms, so my negative shorts just get shown more to people than my positive ones do.
And it is just sort of in the nature of things that when you talk about largely corporate art, products default to lowest common denominators more often, or are more likely to be creatively unambitious in favor of commercial viability, and then there's a limit to how positive one can really be while remaining honest as a critic.
Still, sometimes there is gold in them there hills, and that's when you get a Rain Shepherd Milio, or a Marvel Rivals Squirrel Girl or a Torkoal and I get to just be happy for a bit.
