for the game! givenson AU where they're both park rangers?
god i love a park au. i think i'd be too nitpicky to write a real fic but here we go <3
Raylan would work at the visitor's center or the kiosk when you enter the park or some other very public facing job. The public loves him. He likes the public. Tim doesn't mind the public but if you put him in the visitor's center/entry kiosk place he will get the thousand yard stare.
Tim's on the SAR team. He's very quietly very very proud to do that work.
Raylan would wear the cowboy hat or a campaign hat. dork. Tim's wearing a baseball hat like a normal person
Tim accidentally became a birder. It started with a few common birds and then devolved more and more. His favorite group of birds are woodpeckers. He loves a dick joke.
Raylan loves the hot humid end of summer. Tim loves shoulder season and winter.
Cosmic Fury was better than it had any right to be.
It was honestly Power Rangers In Space if it really got a budget infusion. While I personally feel the Kyuranger suits would've made for a memorable team to go out on, I appreciate them trying their hand at a PR exclusive suit for a whole team.
While the story was crammed in places, it largely works as a direct follow up to Dino Fury. I feel the first episode was a bit cluttered with Dewdrip being a tad shoehorned for Ollie's re-evilization. I feel like Zedd's staff could've triggered the traces of Sizzurai's poison. Like a sleeping agent.
I even think having all the Cosmic Zords at their disposal without the usual "unlocking" episode beats worked for the already battle test Dino Fury team. Them being able to remote pilot them did navigate keeping the character focus on who we've been following so far.
I do wish we got scenes of Power Rangers still active on Earth trying to fight Zedd's invasion for a true sense of scale. Even if their morphed, they could use archive audio from past seasons. Maybe even recycle footage with attacks.
Maybe show a cutaway of Zack's Hip-Hop-kido legit throwing Zentinels for a loop.
Heck, with the Megazord cavarly, I feel there's an extended cut out there with interior shots from past seasons that would've shown the past Rangers giving the current generation a hand. I feel like this was made with a potential TV airing in mind.
As for "The End," it was honestly far better than it needed to be.
Having the Rangers convince Zedd to give up his power so the Zedd Wave wouldn't kill him or all good in the universe was a very clever mental battle. One that had Ollie utilize what his former master tried to teach him even.
Lastly was containing the still all powerful Zedd in a nightmare prison on Nibiru was a good utilization of a past adventure and, again, a very smart way to avoid a fight given how everything took it out of the team. It was subversive from the big all out battle most were expecting but one I feel was earned and well thought out.
I also feel like Once & Always is bested viewed after Cosmic Fury since Aiyon mentioning what could've been Zordon in Zayto's form is what likely led Billy to attempt to bring him back. Additionally, it makes for, what appears to be at the time, a good franchise finale with how it shows the team that started it all.
All in all, it was morphenomenal. While Power Rangers seems to be entering a wilderness era not unlike Doctor Who during the 1990s, I am optimistic that we won't have seen the last of the show just yet.
Seriously, LuPat would be a great spin-off of SPD. Maybe take a bit of Once & Always' energy of maturity mixed with the camp to even comment on the police and law.
Guys! What is up with Power Rangers right now? (Watch Andre’s video on the new article or Este’s video on the Reboot universe from E - One for more info.)
Hasbro? What are you doing? Does this mean we’ll have a new universe including new television shows and a new movie franchise? Why was Beast Morphers announced as a Power Rangers-inspired series? And is Dino Fury the end of the legacy b4 the reboots/E-One stuff starts popping up?
Hasbro what? Hasbro why? Hasbro I need answers.
Please tell me something big is coming for the Power Rangers franchise. If they make a Shattered Grid movie or some sort of live action Shattered Grid universe I will scream about nothing but that. We don’t have anything confirmed yet so I N E E D answers.
Seriously, the guy who did I Am Not Okay With This and End Of The F****** World is now overseeing and directing the new television series (and possible movie franchises?!)
As much as I am hyped for Dino Fury after Beast Morphers is over: Dude, there are huge things coming. I can feel it, and I’m so ready for it. Please, please PLEASE tell me there are more things coming. There’s literally only one article out about this right now butttttt U G H. Power Rangers reboot? Count me IN.
Yes I’m an adult. Yes I watch Power Rangers. I stan my color-coded spandex wearing yes I know it’s not spandex superheroes and I will defend the Power Rangers until the day I die.
Add your own speculation in the notes below! I want to hear all of your theories and speculation!
A Disney Era producer was told by higher ups to "just dub the Sentai" and, well, what if they actually did that? Power Rangers but it just takes place in Japan here? It would fit DonBrothers in particular with the Japanese folklore of Momotaro. It would be an interesting experiment to say the least in visual effects editing and dubbing.
Given that they might focus on the reboot, it might seem unlikely but the allure of new teams and new toys to sell would be tempting.
