E-Type - This Is the Way 1994
"This Is the Way" is a song by Swedish musician E-Type. It features vocals by Swedish singer Nana Hedin and was produced by pop legends Denniz Pop and Max Martin. It was released in 1994 as the second single from E-Type's debut album, Made in Sweden. The single reached number one in Sweden, and peaked at number four in Denmark and number 18 in Finland. In France, it reached number 14 and remained for twenty weeks in the top 50. On the Eurochart Hot 100, the song peaked at number 40. Outside Europe, it reached number 15 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart. E-Type won the prize for Best Swedish Dance Track 1996 at the 1997 Swedish Dance Music Awards with "This Is the Way".
Hedin provided vocals for more than half of all E-Type's songs, although most of the time, Dilnarin "Dee" Demirbag (sister of Dilba, poll #556) was on stage and in music videos with E-Type, lip-synching to Hedin's voice. Hedin made her last appearance on record with E-Type on his 2004 album Loud Pipes Save Lives. In 2009 she was told by doctors that she has cancer in her tongue and she is therefore currently not performing. In 2022 a Swedish non-profit organization called M.A.S. started a GoFundMe named "Save NaNa's Voice 2022" in order to finance Hedin's journey to India for reconstructive jaw surgery.
"This Is the Way" received a total of 67,4% yes votes!
