It had only been quite some time, three or four days after the battle that emerged between him, Kris, Luhan and Ying yet there they are again, tasked to do something quite similar to what happened the other day—it was a bliss, if you ask him, and if he was asked the feeling after defeating someone who had been a target ever since he was little, and ever since his parents were murdered. It wasn’t just revenge, he notes, and it wasn’t just for his personal reasons why he had to capture the two and kill them mercilessly; the things that happened between them four are prior to what they truly are, their nature, and since he’s the King and Luhan’s the Prince, they both swore to protect the vampires from any uncanny creatures that are ought to get them.
The feeling is different now than it was days before. Now it is only a task without having so much pressure placed on top of their heads; Luhan is hiding with him behind a white concrete, the other vampires were looking around for them, they inhaled their scent and it was the most unfortunate thing that happened to them that night, instead of finishing the job at east.
“We can’t stay here."
Of course we can’t, whose fault is that? he wants to retaliate yet he they can’t argue at a time when both of them are in grave danger—well not really, since they’re both too keen on killing now and they both have that experience with fighting that everything is almost as easy as 1, 2, 3. Joonmyeon snaps to his left, hearing a vague sound that signaled that the enemies are close. He turns his head back to Luhan, tipping his head as if he’s gesturing that he’s ready to run—because like he always said, anonymity is the best chance they could have in a thousand vampire’s lair, yet their scent was captured by one of their guards and they can’t let themselves be known, especially not when all they have to do is to kill their leader.
“There’s gotta be another way out.”
They have to take the chance that is given to them in any opportunity, Joonmyeon’s eyes become dark—a crimson shade is visible in every corner of his irises as he converts how how a goody two shoes he is by far to the feared King. He knows that his significant other is ready as well, so he makes his way up—his legs pushing his own weight to stand on the crane with Luhan following his pursuit. The others took the lead by trapping their positions earlier and they were lucky to have flown the spot before they could reach them, he wraps an arm around Luhan’s waist, pushing themselves up, further to one of the tree’s branches so they could have the upper hand by looking around the said place, surrounded by vicious creatures lower than what they truly are.
"I can see someone and I guess they’re their leader." He states in an uncanny tone, weary is visible on his voice—his eyes sets on the latter; tall, blonde and there’s a smirk forming on his lips as he turns to lock his eyes over Suho’s direction and he couldn’t believe what he just saw.
He’s alive. But he knew that Luhan killed him on the spot, he saw him sprawled on the floor, bleeding to death and even his eyes were weary that his life will end in an instant but his eyes will never be wrong when it comes to what he sees. Despite his strong nature and abilities, his eyes are fragile yet sharp—one of the things that he inherited with the line that he is in.
"Let’s go, Luhan. This mission can wait." because we’re both not ready yet—because we both just witnessed his death yet now I look at him and he’s stronger than he was before. Is what he wanted to add but he couldn't do so, because that look in the latter’s eyes were deadly and all he could do is to call truce; Suho takes Luhan’s eyes and captures the breeze of the wind as they go with the flow on where it would take them, his mind is in a cautious state, curious, wondering how it happened.
And he can never be wrong.
Kris is alive.
A few nights back, they found themselves caught up in the battle of a lifetime, to the point where he hadn't had a single clue as to when it would come to an end, or if there an end at that. A fight for dominance was what he perceived it as; a bloody massacre would have been a much simpler way of putting things, for the battle had dragged on for days and days. The lives of hundreds were taken within that short time period, courtesy of the Prince and King. Perhaps they would have been seen as the villains if others misunderstood, though they were anything but. Luhan, as well as Joonmyeon have both made a sworn oath once they've taken the throne as teenagers, and that oath was that they needed to protect the race of vampires at any cost—even if their lives were hanging on a single thread.
When his significant other had given him the cue to begin running, that was exactly what they sought to do. Joonmyeon taking the lead and acting as the guide whilst Luhan was right behind him—a fair distance was kept between the two so they wouldn't run into one another, but they were close enough to protect each other if something were to suddenly happened. "There are a group of vampires at 7 o'clock, don't let your guard down." He was always the navigator between them, as well as the radar—being able to detect the whereabouts of their enemies was no challenge for him. However, his comment must have gone through one ear and out the other because his lover decided to pull the Prince into his arms, bringing them onto a tree. The elevation of the branch they were standing on was actually quite high, and Joonmyeon knew too well that Luhan wasn't a huge fan of heights.
"This council may be a group of pussies if they're unable to act on their own with a single leader. They remind me of cockroaches; you can never really get rid of them." Finishing his sentence with an arm hooking around the elder's waist, the direction of his gaze is directed towards their leader, he almost couldn't believe his eyes when he's spotted the male who was staring back at them with a taunting smirk dancing on his lips—It was Kris. Impossible, is what he thinks. The night everything had came to an end, Luhan knew for a fact that he had killed Kris on the spot, there wasn't a single doubt in his mind that told him otherwise. And with the look of Joonmyeon's face, he too, seems to be astonished by the sudden turn of events.
Fleeing from the scene within the time span of a second, they were now located in a desolate part of the region. His back was pressed against the bark of the tree, one leg extended in front of him and the other bent to rest his arm upon. He was not only out of breath, but he came to believe his mind was playing games on him. Kris couldn't be alive, could he? Luhan remembered exactly what he did to the male the other night—tore both of his arms out of his socket, brutally beat him to a pulp until crimson was practically fleeing his body is gushes, and finally, pierced his heart with a wooden stake until he was laying in his own puddle of blood. How on earth would he have been alive? Nothing seems to add up, unless the man he killed was a doppelganger of Kris, sent out to do the man's dirty work. "Do you think it's possible that this entire thing was staged? Kris could have been toying with us I know it sounds ridiculous, but just think about it for a minute. He could have planned this out from the very beginning; fake his death in order to receive an understanding of our abilities, such as our powers, our strengths, our weaknesses, what makes us crack, and so on."
