If I get 20 notes on this post, I'll create an Ask the E-Series blog. I need them to live together as a happy family on Scrapnik Island but I can't write any more fics until I finish my big bang, so this will be a good middle ground.

Eggman really can't help putting a piece of himself into his creations; much like any creator, really

Metal Sonic has his obsession with Some Guy; with a dash of identity crisis for flavor

Gamma had his calculating mind, his curiosity; hence how enough thought and introspection allowed him to break free of his initial programming

(Beta had a surprising drive to seek approval, whatever it took? Maybe fits Ivo, his grandfather who focused all his attention on his ill granddaughter? I dunno)

Omega. . . has quite a bit of Eggman in him (Don't kill and maim me). His exacting standards, his stubbornness, his one-track mind... by exacting standards, I mean that Omega, despite his insistence to being open to "any means necessary" to end the doctor, has fairly specific conditions for what does and doesn't constitute a victory over his shitty Dad

Eggman likewise has very specific conditions for what constitutes a victory over the bane of his existence; there's a lot of subterfuge and tricks he could employ, but he refuses all but an absolute win against Sonic

Cubot and Orbot probably got Eggman's intrusive thoughts. Y'know, the ones that led him to resurrect Gods on more than one occasion and other ideas that more or less brought him an ass-kicking

Edit: E-100 Alpha aka ZERO is the whiny id that we never see Eggman acknowledge. Noisy (his quasi-constant targeting system when he spots you brings to mind a whine) and only capable of smashing until it's silenced by force

I'd comment on Sage (maybe) but I still haven't played through Frontiers

I have an Omega built too, but I'll give him his own dedicated post. I need to make some tweaks to his design and weapon attachments for his arms.

E-Series Robots

I recently downloaded most of the E-Series robots from Sonic Adventure and rigged them. I started off with rigging E-102 Gamma then once he was done I reused and modified his rig for E-101 Beta. Then after that was done all that was left was creating a separate session for E-103 Delta and simply swapping out Beta's textures for Delta's since they're the same model. I also managed to rip Delta's boss battle gun arm textures from the game. For ZERO, I originally wasn't even planning on rigging him anytime soon but a friend of mine asked me if I could rig ZERO for them so I ended up doing that. Currently I don't have E-104 Epsilon or E-105 Zeta but once they're available on the Models-Resource website I will definitely be rigging them. I've always loved the E-Series robots so getting to rig them and do renders with them is really fun.
