I have been to E-1027 and have walked past this mailbox multiple times, and yet I have to learn only years later that it's an Hermès replica of Eileen Gray's original mailbox, which she made from an Hermès saddle bag? And Hermès actually made two, and auctioned the other one in 2019?

by cutting a hole in the box, and positioning a mirror in the bedroom window, Gray could see whether the mail had been delivered without getting out of bed.

Important Cabinets come and go, but if you tell me it's an Important Headboard, you will have my attention. Eileen Gray's c. 1930 headboard/bookcase combo and dresser/cabinet from her own Paris apartment were for sale at Christie's in 2023, but only the cabinet sold. Hate to break up a set, but, money and the vision to live with hundred-year-old iconic modernist dorm furniture rarely go hand in hand.

Anyway, half my point of making this post was so that this pic of Gray's bedroom could be somewhere else beside Pinterest, which remains a image searching curse.
