Summary: After a series of attacks, Alex's entire class is sent to be trained at the SAS training camp, to give them a degree of self sufficiency to help them defend themselves. Unfortunately for Alex, he has to go with them… and not get noticed as different.

My thoughts: It's like a serious, actual take on the concept of Alex's class being taken to the SAS camp. It's brilliant, Alex is not let up on for much of the time, but the aftermath of everything is when things get really good. This fic began in 2007, which is why I hesitate to call it dead. It may get another random update idk but it ends in a good place.

The door slides open and you know, as you have all night, that it is already too late.

You don’t turn but you don’t have to, he hops up onto the railing in front of you.He’s grinning.

He reaches out, familiar hands, and plucks the half smoked fag from your fingers. You don’t try to stop him, it’s already too late. Your useless empty fingers twitch on the air where it was, almost reaching to take it back but somewhere far below a lonely traffic light blinks to red and you’re stuck, struck, watching him, head tipped back, eyes closed lashes fluttering down to rest on cheek, savoring the smoke, the red light glittering off the bridge of his nose, the column of his throat, anointing him in neon, softly. And he blows a stream of smoke up, up into the chill air and you can’t help but see you. And you can’t help but see that he’s beautiful.

And then it’s over and he’s- the little shit- pressed the cigarette between your lips and his grin is all teeth, bathed red by the light, a warning. He bumps his knee against yours, friendly. You rise, push past his grasping hands and pull the door shut behind you.

You are suddenly very cold.

Summary: A slightly older, harder Alex goes to Brecon Beacons. Things aren't okay (but they could be, eventually).

My thoughts: I really like this Alex. I like this characterization of K-Unit and the idea that Alex finds the camp almost like a vacation from the actual torture of his missions is just idk man.
