note: erm, first alistair post, yay 👍 thx for almost 200 followers, weee. Okay, im done.

“You know Alistair, smiling once in a while wouldn’t kill you, right?” You teased, elbowing your boyfriend on the side of his torso. The latter winced slightly, pouting. “What? It’s hard to be happy when there’s about- ten different Ever After High princes staring at you.” Alistair retorted, continuing to walk step-in-step with you, gesturing around. “Alistair, it was one. And it was Prince Charming himself, of course he said something to me.” You raised a brow, crossing your arms.

Alistair spluttered. “So? Just because he’s some righteous prince with a sword, and- and, and good hair, and some dumb good-looking face doesn’t mean I have to like it!” He pointed in the air, glaring at you a little. Chuckling, you smiled in return to the boy’s narrowed stare. “I’m not saying like it. I’m saying don’t act like everyone else is worse just because he is.” Alistair scoffed, “Oh, like his friends are any better? Sparrow? Son of Robin Hood? First thing he did when he landed was flirt with Bunny.”

“Okay, fair point. But,” you started, dragging the word out, which caused Alistair to roll his eyes amusedly. “But what, [Name]?” He asked, and you smiled mischievously. “It’s really cute when you get jealous!” Alistair’s cheeks turned red, and he huffed a little. “I hardly get jealous. Hardly [Name]. I just- I just don’t want guys making you uncomfortable. That’s all.” He lied, horribly. And his lack of eye contact proved you right.

“No, no, I think you get pretty jealous. And it’s adorable to try and watch you deny it. I mean, Alistair, seriously, you’re so obvious sometimes.” You explained, “I mean, remember how we started dating?” Alistair sighed like he had just aged fifty years when you brought that event to the forefront of his memory. He does, in fact remember, how you two started dating. And it was all because he couldn’t hold his tongue when he saw you talking to some Ever After prince. He shouldered the guy while he practically spat in his face. In front of everyone. It was humiliating. Yet, despite that horrific memory, he wrapped his arm around your waist, and leaned over to the side of your head.

“You are insufferable, [Name].” Alistair said softly, and you instantly replied back, “Yeah, and your insufferable girlfriend is the only reason your chess doesn’t just have two members. Including you, and myself.” Alistair snickered, “Hey! Bunny was a member too.” The blond reminded you. “Yeah, after I hexted her a picture of your sad little face!” He immediately replied. “Okay, it was not sad! I was just-…” Alistair took in a deep breath, and spoke in a calm, collected tone of voice, “I just thought more people would appreciate the game of chess.” He stated, staring forward.

You gave him a blank stare. He glanced at you once. Twice. Three times. “Okay, I was a little sad.” He shamefully admitted, finally looking at you. “So, am I still insufferable?” You questioned with mock innocence. And Alastair rolled his eyes. “No [Name], you are not.”

confession time: i think alistair and bunny are the single most boring ship in all of EAH + the fandom combined. that doesn't mean i dislike them—confession #2 i think Dexven and Huntlynn are boring too—but ONE SINGLE THING could've changed that. one change could have sold me on those two

if Alistair wasn't Wonderlandian

now i know ppl love him as a member of the Wonderlandian gang and i won't begrudge you for that; the fandom makes him more interesting than he is in canon anyway; but likeee why is he even IN WONDERLAND TO BEGIN WITH THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE and also it would add some tension to his love story bc falling in love with the daughter of the White Rabbit would seem so much more ironic, so much more poetic, so much more... dramatic ykw?

i get they're not supposed to be dramatic but i think they could benefit from it

they could still be childhood friends! i love a good cross-border childhood friends-to-lovers! maybe i'm just too much a sucker for the "we're not even from the same world" angst. maybe i'm just a sucker for cross-cultural romances. but like even if Alistair wound up stuck in Wonderland for a couple years, he'd get to experience a lil bit of the cultural belonging crisis. AND THEN when he returns to Ever After, he'll still feel like he doesn't belong even when he's back home!! i love that.

as for Bunny... i feel like she could experience more awkwardness about falling for the son of Alice. but there's also this charm of being that "first character you meet in a new world who becomes love interest" and idk that would've been really cute

EAH: Patron Greek Gods Pt. 3

Melody: Apollo

Obviously. The Lover of the Lyre meets the Master of Mixtapes. But Apollo is also the god of plagues, and Melody has the power to unleash a plague of rats and mad dancing upon their peers.

Lizzie: Demeter

Demeter doesn't often take on heroes, preferring to care for the masses rather than the individual. But Lizzie's unique green thumb proved good enough for Demeter to take an interest. Demeter admires Lizzie's ambition to take care of her people and her mother, reminding her of her relationship with her daughter Persephone. They are both wrathful when they need to be, because even the nice ones are not to be trifled with.

Kitty: Eris

Kitty is chaos incarnate. She sows discord at every turn, always keeping everyone guessing. Eris has taken champions from the Cheshire family for centuries. They both do what they do for their own amusement, even if it might cause wars. But Kitty has to remind herself to reel herself back in, because Eris is just like Kitty's mother.

Alistair: Hermes/Athena

Alistair's entire thing is adventure. The god of travelers and heralds is able to move freely between the mortal and divine realms. Hermes admires craftiness and cleverness, something Athena also appreciates. Alistair's mind mixed with his wanderlust makes him a great hero in the making. But if Odysseus is to be remembered for anything, it's to remind Alistair not to get too cocky.

Bunny: Tyche

Tyche is the goddess of luck and good fortune. After so many White Rabbits inheriting the bad habit of being late, Bunny considers herself lucky to be on time no matter how lost or unprepared she is. With so many extracurriculars, Bunny needs good luck on her side to be on time and also succeed.

Chase: Athena

Like Darling, Chase is a great warrior and a noble knight. But he's also a stickler for the rules. While Athena encourages outside the box thinking, she prefers to weave through the system rather than tear it down. Chase may be rigid, but his penchant for order in a chaotic world is what called Athena to him.
