EAH headcanon that Cupid’s hands are incredibly cold, quite literally bone-cold, because she’s still a bone elemental monster. The only reason she appears human (cherub? demigoddess?) is because of an illusion spell Eros cast on her. It’s not just her hands, too, her entire temperature is cold. People who have come into contact with her have noticed it, but never brought it up (except for Cedar 💀)

You see, in my Ever After High Rewrite that’ll never escape vague Tumblr post purgatory, I would have Darling randomly saving Apple at various points pre-Dragon Games.

Apple trips on the stairs? Darling’s there to catch her. Duchess throws something at Sparrow, misses, and now it’s on a collision course for Apple’s face? Darling catches it just in time (whether or not she used her magical hair-flip powers is undetermined). Terrifying beast from the Dark Forest starts rampaging through the school grounds and Apple’s right in its path? Darling takes it down before Daring finishes putting away his mirror.

And all these encounters end with Darling and Apple having a glorious round of gay panic, except Apple is gay panicking in the way one does when they haven’t yet realized they’re gay. Love that for her honestly. They’re both perfectly refined princesses except when they’re within 5 feet of each other and Apple has no idea why (Darling, conversely, knows exactly why and that makes her freak out even more because that’s Daring’s destined princess).

Cupid takes one look at these two disasters, sighs, shakes her head, and proceeds to put them on her list of long-term projects. It's a better response than Briar's, who hits her supply of energy drinks like a madwoman and plans out the most elaborate coming-out party ever. The more gay panic incidents she's forced to witness the more extravagant it gets. By the time the rewritten Way to Wonderland happens she's trying to figure out how elephants on stilts would even work. By the time we get Dragon Games, she's got a whole weeklong festival planned.
