So rewatching Kung Fu Hustle, I noticed a couple of small lines that I found interesting:

“So are you two the fated lovers?”

“Paris...”

“...and Helen of Troy.”

And just with that alone, it can set up such a nice fic.

                   shoot though that scene where Rai seals Franken has bothered me all this time cos of the above reasons!!!^ Rai sealing Franken in order to protect him from Dark Spear (hearing them Voices, random cases of getting eaten alive etc etc) feels a lot more legit.   But yeah, I still agree it's all cos of Retcons™                

And they did say that Frankenstein used to suffer from nightmares (that yet again were never touched upon after that). So there’s a whole bunch of good reasons for Rai to seal Frankenstein for his own well-being. Not...that.

The retcons/explanations also seem like they’re trying to make Frankenstein a Good Character after all the hints of him being a Mad Scientist before, and by doing that, they’re making everyone else look WORSE.

                   Well I just meant the times we've seen him when he's kinda become one with DS i.e fight with Urokai and Lunark. He never spoke during those times, he just yelled and attacked everything who got in his way, even Rai. The fact that he's still, well, himself right now makes me think that he'll be stronger than he was during those times. Plus, he hasn't used Blood Spear so maybe he'll just use that to defeat Dorant lol but yeah, I agree, that scene with the seal was BS :3

But yeah, you’re right, him actually communicating now does say he’s got a better handle over Dark Spear.

So what if Tao’s on the sofa, messing about on his laptop as per usual, and he needs to go get something from the kitchen. So without looking up, he sends a couple of cables over and they end up poking Rai.

He squeaks.

Tao, not realising who’s sitting next to him, grins and pokes him again.

Rai squeaks again.

“Aha!” Tao says, raising his head. “You’re ti-” He sees who he’s been poking and oH SHIT OH SHIT I’M DEAD I’M DEAD.

Rai’s almost bright red because no-one’s touched him like that before so he has no idea why his body was reacting like that.

Ok but now, imagine frankie giving rai a haircut back in the day, 1300s or whatnot.

I don’t think Rai would really need it, haha, but then again.. Yeah, if Rai got curious about Frankenstein cutting his hair, then maybe he would like to try it too.

Frankenstein would probably only give him a small trim, pfft. (It’d be amusing to me if the hair Frankenstein cut just disappeared in his hand. Because noble cleaning up after themselves and not leaving any waste.)

YO, I was thinking this too! I'm upset even tried to go after the old guy. He could've tried to escape since no one was expecting him to still have any energy. Anything that would help the original plan of providing a warning to Lukedonia!

Auuuugh, right? If you’re going to declare that you’re not going to allow any of the antagonists to enter Lukedonia, how about you actually try to KILL THEM? Rather than giving them a surface wound.

I wouldn’t have been AS annoyed if he’d done that either of those. He knew from the start he wouldn’t be able to fight them all off and warning Lukedonia was his priority. Then he forgot about it.

A last ditch effort to warn the others would have redeemed some of his previous actions with me rather than trying to fight them, now that they’re no longer just going to fight one on one. He would/should have been caught running, but at least he might have actually been able to give the other Lukedonians a heads up of what was happening to prepare. But no, the entire fight is pretty much wasted with no progression since the Clan Leaders are still oblivious.

Bwahahah. If they’d actually done that, I think I would have burst a gut laughing. XDD

...And now I can’t stop imagining Rajak with Gandalf’s voice, and that Tao gathered everyone around for movie night to watch the series. And he goes for themes, so it was fantasy night (supernatural night with vampires and werewolves movies usually got a LOT of questions and huffiness so if he wants them to have a good time, he usually avoids them).

Also, I dunno why, but I've always thought 'Frankenstein' was his surname that he prefers go by...

It could be, but for me, I take/write it as his first name because calling him by his family name makes the relationship a little more formal and distant. But yeah, that’s my interpretation of it. X3
