as a gamer obviously I know all about underrated video games. Yep.
that said, I'll take this opportunity to mention Eastshade.
It's a very pretty, very calm game. You're an artist who travels to Eastshade to fullfill your late mother's last wish - draw a painting of a few locations in this country. While you travel you meet up with the locals, get to know them, maybe do a quest or two for them. Or don't, only a few of the quests are necessary to move on with your main quest.
The world is very open. You can explore almost everywhere pretty early in the game. Just have to get out of the starting area first, but don't worry, the starting area ALSO have lots of places to explore.
And a very big selling point for me (although I know it'll turn others away) - there is No combat in it. No enemies. Just you, your drawings and Eastshade. And the friends you make along the way.
It's not a long game - I have 44 hours played and finished it 3 times in those 44 hours.
It's not really underrated - the reviews lean heavily to the positive side.
But as a game where all the characters are anthropomorphic animals I feel like tumblr is sleeping on this one a bit! Or maybe I was just late to finding it and missed when tumblr was playing it.
