Okay, when I said Eatbugs, a cat in the book Tailchaser's Song by Tad Williams, was the cat version of Peet the Sockman from the Wingfeather Saga I was worried I had misremembered.
I did not misremember.
Like, do I even need to say more? This is Peet as a cat. What do I do with this information?!?
He's talking gibberish and seeing things, he "gets confused sometimes" but doesn't mean any harm ;-;
(also "I ran" help meeeeeeee)
HE'S JUST LONELY AND WANTS SOMEONE TO TALK TO
HE DOES ACROBATICS
His fits aren't dangerous and his eyes are filled with a great and terrible sadness 😭😭
HE'S TELLING THEM STORIES AND POETRY AND SINGING AS THEY TRAVEL
IF ANYTHING THERE ARE MORE SIMILARITIES THAN I PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT
HE'S LITERALLY PEET THE SOCKMAN THE CAT HELP ME
@brandyestchristi hello you need to see this
This book was published in 1985 btw, it predates Wingfeather by DECADES.
