Oh god, the thought of it potentially being another 2 years until the next general election... it feels like BoJo was in power for five years anyway. My last shred of hope is that the government will want to go back to May elections, so it's more like a year and a half at most...

Technically, I think the next general election is due for January 2025 (it has to be five years past the last one, which was in December 2019, plus 25 days for an election campaign). But I honestly cannot possibly foresee any way in which yet another unelected Tory clown can even remotely pretend to stay in power for another 2+ years, especially at the rate they are currently burning through prime ministers. These last six weeks have already been about 53 years, so...

Anyway, obviously they will resist as long as possible because they will get shellacked and they don't want that, but if they insist that there won't be a general election, we should probably assume there will be. Since you know, that is basically how things work every time the Tories open their mouths about anything.

And, he figures, it's probably better to share his own story rather than dump a bunch of static information on Eddie and let him figure it out. "I'm asexual," Buck says, deciding it's easiest to open with the most important part. "Well, I identify as gray-asexual, actually, because there is some... gray area there." He indicates that last part with a vague wave of his hand, unsure how to explain it. "I thought you were pansexual?" Eddie questions, seeming confused, and Buck chuckles. "Yeah, no, kind of. I'll get to that. The thing is that I've always been the kind of guy who falls fast and easily, y'know? I crave- love, or validation, maybe. And at some point I discovered that often the easiest way to get that validation was sex. It meant someone wanted to be close to me and if I did things right and put in effort, they appreciated me for it. But..." The frown on Eddie's face has a hint of sadness to it, now. Buck doesn't blame him. It is kind of pathetic, looking back. He knows that it wasn't a healthy coping mechanism for his self-esteem issues, especially not when it started interfering with his life too much. "But?"
