The molting of the skin occurs regularly in snakes. Molting is common, and results in the entire outer layer of epidermis being lost.

While a snake is in the process of shedding the skin over its eye, the eye may become milky.

When the process is complete the snake emerges with its color deepened, the scales polished, the surfaces bright and undulled by contact with scratching brush…

Did you know that as an anole grows, it sheds its old skin? This process, called ecdysis, helps the lizard get rid of damaged or infected skin and allows for new healthy skin to replace it. In fact, most reptiles (including turtles and snakes) shed their skin as they grow.

So I've been thinking about time dilation regarding space travels, and if in some planets, time passes faster or slower than on Earth:

With Valka jumping from space ship to space ship, being dragged on different planets as a gladiator before escaping with Rak'ne to another planet and starting her journey as a huntress...

There is a very high possibility that the people she knew on Earth are older than her or no longer alive

A high possibility her parents grew old more and more while she aged slowly (both for time dilation and genetic mutation)

Her parents eventually pass away without ever knowing what happened to their daughter... thinking something horrible happened to her to vanish that way, and she died somewhere alone and scared.

They all never got a chance to reunite at all,to say goodbye, to hug each other one last time

Me: *sobbing about Valka*

Valka: Do they know they are the active creator of my own backstory? And they could change this if they wanted?

Me: shhhhhhhhhhhhhh you suffer, I suffer, we both suffer
